If G-Mac is a generational talent, as some are saying Brandon looks like, we might see him start in the SEC.10 years later Ainge was 200 as a freshman and then 212 a year later as a sophomore. The weight shouldn’t be the beginning and the end. It should be a factor though.

Frankly, we don't have the "sure thing" O Line in front of a young guy nor "sure thing" receivers nor "sure thing" RBs. When you have seen generational QB talent excel at Bama or elsewhere in the last decade, they've had a big team full of blue chip talent around them.
You can't just toss a good young player out there to lead a bunch of guys who are new or marginal at their positions. Our offense this year is not ready to be led by a freshman. There are simply too many unknowns and potential holes to do that to a kid no matter how good they are.
I get it. What if he's our best QB? The question that needs to be asked is: what QB makes our team the best.
There's a VERY good chance Brandon is our best skilled QB next year BUT he's likely not the QB who can best lead the team.
Let’s hope he is a better student of the game than Bray. Bray’s immaturity in college was his detriment. Even he know admits it. GBOGMac has a little Tyler Bray to him but a little more athletic. Still needs to develop and get bigger but I do think he's the guy next year - yes, over Faizon Brandon.
JA will be the bridge guy, similar to how Milton was.
I'm just saying "the best QB" is not necessarily the most individually talented QB. Would you say Joe was more talented than Nico, even as a first year QB? I'll bet Brandon comes in extremely gifted individually. The best QB should play this year. That should include a variety of factors including but not limited to grasp of the offense/ leadership/ and overall talent. Not getting a true freshman injured should absolutely be a consideration. But feel for the game/ checking into correct protections etc is just as important as gaining weight.
I could definitely see it not going like last year and getting to 10 wins. But anything less than 8 means we are bad not only at QB but multiple other spots, especially when you take into account the schedule we have. If the defense is as good as it was last year, and the run game can just be solid, I'll be shocked if we dont at least get to 8.People need to prepare themselves for a 6/7 win season

The QB needs to be ready to lead ESPECIALLY this year because we've got questions on the offense everywhere. That's the case for Joey A, IMO, because he's seen a questionable O Line and receivers before and dealt with it.
Is our O Line going to gel? I heard last season at this time that we were good despite our losses. Were we? I'm hearing the same this year.
Are our receivers going to be healthy and ready? That seems to be a question.
And our RB room. Have we got guys that will be there and be healthy if we have to lean on them?
There's too many questions on the offense to just say "start the best QB." Start the guy who can handle the pressure of the unknowns this year.
All those Bama generational QBs……If G-Mac is a generational talent, as some are saying Brandon looks like, we might see him start in the SEC.
