1st Down Tennessee - Crowd "Rocky....Top", will it catch on?

I'd rather watch Caitlen Jenner dance with a wax dummy of Bruce Jenner.

I just added the above to my bucket list but it's slotted at #236/

So this Butch clappy thing would be after that.

As fans, do we have the power to veto this?

I don't remember who proposed it but the- " (PA) FIRST AND!...(fans) TENNESSEEEEEE!!"- is the best one I've heard. It's simple and a lot less cheesy. And there's no clapping.

Agreed...or...nothing at all by the crowd...

BUT...LOTS of 1st downs by the Team...THAT'S what I'd like to see/hear...

But you're forgetting the two stomps and the snap

CBJ doesn't need to worry about the crowd...we got this, but only putting our team in position and actually winning ala fl last yr.

I tend to agree. Butch has done his part as far as PR goes. The fans and national media will take it from here. Just focus on winning

Is this done with a "fist up?"

Seriously, just win on the field and the rowdiness will return.

It's like they are trying too hard. This isn't basketball when Bruce was just hired and was trying to bring down the black curtains. The fans are ready, they do not need gimmicks.

Yeah this chant completely sucked and I thought it made no sense..especially with the three claps at the end. I wouldn't do it but if it sticks they need to take the claps out

I thought "Sit down! I can't see!" was the first down chant? That's what I hear half of the time anyways when I stand to clap for a few seconds.

Some of you need to lighten up. If the team likes it, works for me

I was thinking the same thing. I'm all for doing whatever gets the team and the fans pumped.

Remember when there were no cliches or chants, the crowd was just organically loud and we won all the time? Let's try that again.

Went to NC State for Grad School...

They would do a 'FIRST... DOWN!' Chant with everyone Tomahawking ( best description I can think of) just like the Ref in the direction of the first down.

During dull games or drives it wasn't much fun...

But when we were driving on FSU for the win, it was ****ing awesome.

I sure hope we can come up with a 1st down chant too

Dooley was micro-managing custodial trash can placement. Now Butch is micro-managing in the Cheer Squad's territory. I do not like this trend. Not one damn bit. Before we know it there are gonna be cast concrete, orange collies being dollied out to the practice field and wash rag training sessions.
