I haven't read the flood of posts since the Fulmer firing but has anybody noticed the similarities:

1) Fulmer replaces Majors after both's 16th full season as head coach.
2) Both were canned after losing to South Carolina.
3) Both were 57 heading into their final season.
4) Alabama was undefeated and heading for a possible NC in both 92 and 08.
5) Young liberal Democrats were heading to the Whitehouse in presidential elections.
6) <speculation> Both Majors and Fulmer were replaced by a 43 year coach......all their names have six letters M-A-J-O-R-S; F-U-L-M-E-R; G-R-U-D-E-N!

:eek:k:
If you enjoyed this one I've already worked out a Lincoln/JFK similarity.

That my friend was done long ago. I got that in a forward. President John Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln

Other than that great post!

I don't see the Gruden similarity. Mostly because I have no reason to believe he will be the next coach.

The football program was in much better shape in 92 than it is today.

Majors was only 57 when he was canned? Man he looked a lot older than that then.

And #5 is yet to be seen.

I also said the same "deja vu" about the 1998 season and the 2008 season.

1) Ten year mark
2) New QB
3) Solid defense
4) Eric Berry and Deon Grant
5) College football "sleeper" pick

I thought that Majors was 59. Majors was dismissed one day later, on Tuesday night after the USC game.
