Ah...year of the world's fair. Story goes, at some point CJM walked into crowed venue there, and the crowd started chanting " Beat Bama" over and over. This win broke the 11 year Bama win streak, was our last win over the Bear, was Bears last game in this series. Good times!

GBO!!!

My first real memories of me and my dad watching UT football. Such a great memory, thanks for posting.

I remember jumping for joy as John Ward announced the Tennessee Volunteers have defeated the Crimson tide.

Ah yes. I was there with my oldest brother that fateful day. The last time I have seen the Big Orange in person at Neyland. What a party it was on Cumberland Avenue that night.

As I've recounted before, I was 9 and its the first time I can ever remember: 1) really following an entire game. 2) being emotionally invested in a game, 3) identifying widespread, celebratory drunkeness.

i was 9 as well. and while they were probably drunk, folks and grand folks did a decent job of hiding it....probably because they were so damn happy.

I was there. Threw orange jello off of the Tennessee bridge from Sophies at Bama fans. I know...classy. Watched one of my buds ride a goal post to the Lap. Hooked up with Mrs. Ernest T. Vol that weekend.

I was in the band at the time and it was my first real taste of how insane Neyland stadium could be. All I could think about was getting everyone off the field so we could quit playing in the stands and get to some serious celebrating.

that was my first year also. Crazy to think we were on the 50 yd line when all this went down.

After all the partying I get a call in the dorm around 3 am. I can still hear people yelling on the strip hauling around the goal post.

This was the second UT football game I ever attended. It was even greater when I got to meet Alan Cockrill three years ago and speak to him about that game. Its one of his favorites too. I was setting by the Vols tunnel in the aluminum bleachers behind the end zone back then.

I was helping to carry that goal post. Well at least as far as Clement Hall, after that things got fuzzy.

I was there and will never forget it. After the game, our group went to the World's Fair the rest of the day. There had to be 150,000 people or more counting the game plus the World's Fair crowd. I have a copy of the painting that someone did commemorating the game.

Ah the good old days. I was a freshman. My dorm was East Stadium. My window was directly above the student entrance C and D. We would kick out the screen and wave to all our friends going in.

I remember it was a Noon game and we had to start drinking early. We would be at Sophia's to eat at 8 and be at the liqueur store by about 9 for our Jack.

I sat in section I about 30 rows up. We had a great time, we were so drunk, we hugged and kissed all the girls around us as the game was going down to the wire. I do actually remember putting my fifth of Jack down toward the end of the game as I wanted to remember it. But, that's about all I remember so I was too drunk!! Everyone stormed the field tore down the the south goal 1st and took it the north one and hooked it and tore it down. That night on the strip you could find pieces of the goal posts being hacked up with a hack saw for souvenirs. It was a wild and crazy night on the strip.

I may have the goal posts story backward as I drank about 3/4 of my bottle by the time 3rd qtr was going on.. Maybe someone can chime in.

Chucker

Ive seen alot of great Tennessee vs Alabama games but 2003 is one of my all time favorites. Casey Clausen was fearless that day, 4th and 19 man what a day. 96 was a good day too, can't say I was there for 82 my first Bama experience came when I was 2 in 1988.
