For those who weren't around then,on the slope of the hill was a large UT with a cannon that the ROTC fired after each td.The fall of 66,was my freshman year. The dorms in the quadrangle were called New Hall north and South.Later to be callled Reese Hall(men),and Humes Hall(women).Could not believe that Gary Wright missed a field goal from the 10 yard line to lose to Bama.(That was rectified in 67 with a 24-13 win at Legion Field."Those were the days my friend,"We'd sing and dance the night away...".GBO!

Classic stuff. Good highlights. The cartoon art is pretty cool to see.

The loss to defending national champions stung. I don't remember since I was just a year old then. But it is kind of neat seeing the Vols in Orange jerseys against the Tide in Crimson.

Great stuff. I was at that Auburn game in 1966. Besides the 28-0 score, the memory that sticks with me is the person in front of me being puked on by a woman rushing down the aisle during the national anthem.

At the Orange Bowl game against Oklahoma, there was a statement the morning after the game by someone working as staff inside the Orange bowl,"We've seen a lot of fans have to be helped/carried out inebreated(spelling) after the game; But Tennessee fans are the only ones we have ever seen carried INTO the stadium".Party hardy Big Orange!

I went on YT last nite to watch some old games...In particular was the Sugar Bowl with Miami. Even though Testaverde was draped in Orange from all the sacks he suffered, the one play that just stands out to me. The 40 yd run off left tackle by Jeff Powell. He left Blades in his dust. The commentators repeatedly said how fast Blades was and Powell pulled 15 yards on him after hitting the hole. that was ELECTRIC !
