'19 FL PG Tre Mann

Wasn't trying to land any zingers.... and haven't moved any posts at all. Im excited for the Vols and Barnes and I hope that he signs. As you well know, it is common for players to decommit.

Well you know Patrick Tre Mann could still decommit from Florida as well!! Remember it is common for players to decommit!

“I’m 100 percent committed to them,” James said of the Vols. “I won’t be taking any other calls from any other schools. My heart is set on Tennessee.”

Yeah Patrick its rough these days for us Vol basketball fans who are Rick Barnes fans. Winning the SEC, beating Ky in Rupp, probably going to 8 consecutive NCAA tourneys maybe a final 4 being ranked in the Top 5, committing and signing Top 5 PG's! These next few years should be tough!!!

From what I've been reading, Michael Schwartz was the one who closed the deal on James, as well as Yves Pons last season.
Hopefully, he'll be helping us to land another 4-5* or three in the near future.
Seems to be Desmond who hones in solely on 3-star recruits, for whatever reason.

Maybe so, but those 3-Stars include SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams. He has had some great finds.

That damn Des Oliver, can’t believe he went and recruited a future SEC POY.

Sorry, but your acknowledgement of Barnes landing a top flight player..."finally, lol"...to quote you, was about as backhanded a compliment can be, draped in sarcasm and cynicism.

Having spent some time with Oliver, I wasn’t impressed. I think Barnes could definitely upgrade his staff by replacing him.

That sounds great, and I'm sure he will be a Vol.

But how many times over the years have we heard this, mostly in football, only for the player to wind up somewhere else.

I will feel comfortable when I see him in a UT uniform

That’s the difference, for whatever reason when guys commit in basketball they don’t continue taking visits like they do in football. James is a little over a month away from signing with Tennessee, I’m not worried at all.

Dumb question....Can/will James play in January? I vaguely recall that being possible with some players, to graduate in December and start playing in January, but then again I could have just made it up.

He could if he were to graduate early since TN has an open scholarship with only 12 on this year's roster, but there's been zero discussion of it happening. He's probably not in position to graduate from high school in December.
