Barnes established the culture on this team by recruiting kids that mostly came from two-parent homes, were respectful, and were able to take some tough criticism by their coaches. The kids that have handlers and don't stick to their word during the recruiting process should be warning signs that they may not be 'team first' kind of players. I understand that Mann is enjoying the fame of the recruiting process, and is perhaps right to explore all his options. But he did say that he was announcing on July 30th, and I'm sure that Barnes had to hold off plan B recruits until this date. Now the date has changed and who knows what it is.
Certainly the staff knows the situation with Mann better than anyone, but my hope is we pull up stakes and go get a PG who can get into the lane, and either score it or make a nice pass, as well as play some good D. There are some out there to be had.
