Not gonna matter down the stretch if they can't continue to land guys like Mann. I like Jones, but Mann is elite. UNC still carries more weight than UT in basketball. Vols had a great season last year. That year would've been a disappointing year for UNC fans.Guess who is projected higher in the BPI? Grow some nuts, boys. We’re in elite company now.
If you’re implying that one great season (that the blue bloods would consider a disappointment) coupled with what are probably slightly unrealistic expectations for this year puts us in the same stratosphere as UNC, Kansas, etc., then you aren’t being realistic. We need to sustain and build on that success over a decade-long period of time to start having that conversation. We are poised to have the greatest year in school history. And that’s without recruits of Mann’s caliber. So I can’t wait to see what our team is like as our recruiting goes to the next level.
Is our history equal? No. But in the here and now we are capable of beating all those blue blood programs. I apologize for not pathetically shivering at the thought of UNC offering a recruit we are going to sign.If you’re implying that one great season (that the blue bloods would consider a disappointment) coupled with what are probably slightly unrealistic expectations for this year puts us in the same stratosphere as UNC, Kansas, etc., then you aren’t being realistic. So, is Loyola-Chicago on par with UNC? The truth is that in this day and age, anyone is capable of beating anyone, so basing a school’s reputation on one season isn’t going to necessarily yield an accurate result. Is our history equal? Really good post.Anyone can beat anyone in this day and age of 1 and done. So, is Loyola-Chicago on par with UNC? The truth is that in this day and age, anyone is capable of beating anyone, so basing a school’s reputation on one season isn’t going to necessarily yield an accurate result.
No one is asking you to “pathetically shiver at the thought of UNC offering”, but to believe it isn’t a game changer for a lot of these kids is just ignorant. In the public’s eye, UNC>>>Tennessee in basketball whether you want to recognize that fact or not.

any idea why he's unranked with that pretty good offer list?
