'19 FL PG Tre Mann

So he's better off practicing and playing in hs instead of being in the vol practices and s/c program?

No, nor would I really want him to.

If we could land him now and lock him in, I would definitely welcome him, just like with Burns. Having two 2019 freshmen with college experience practicing against SEC players would only be good for their development. It also means we could focus our full attention on other prospects.

I wouldn’t want to waste a year of his eligibility getting 10-15mpg this upcoming season and next season, and I definitely don’t think he would redshirt.

The fall signing period is about 4 months away and given the relationship Mann has with Lanier and staff I don’t think if he were to commit we have to worry about him sticking until the fall, so we would still be able to turn our attention to other prospects, which at this point looks likely to be his AAU teammate CJ Walker.

My statement was made strictly under the premise that he redshirted. I too, wouldn't want to waste a year of eligibility for him to play mop up minutes.

If he would redshirt I would change my stance, I just don’t see that as being very likely, especially given Tennessee’s current need for 10-15mpg at that spot.

On TOS, it was mentioned that Burns and Mann are friends. They also mentioned that Burns and Mann were Lentz first non-UT player follows on Twitter. As BTO has already mentioned, it sounds like we are in a pretty good spot here.

Add in CJ Walker (holds a UT offer) is friends and AAU teammates with Mann and has expressed an interest in playing together in college...

I think he could be a 1 and done type. Seems pretty interested in the next level. Might be in our best interest to get him as seasoned as possible for that 1 year if it works out that way

Mann? I don’t get that vibe, in fact article today stating he’s gonna be a great get for someone because he’s the type that will be all conference and stick around for a few years.

I haven't gotten that impression, necessarily, but he is the kind of kid that may have leaving school early option in his future. Not likely one and done, but maybe after 2-3 years.

Rivals mod was asked how he would rank Florida's point guards for 2019 in terms of best chance to get?

His answer:

Tre Mann is the goal but his is a hard recruitment to read. The last time I interviewed him he was wearing a Vols hoodie. Not necessarily the end of the world, but I can't help but ask myself would a kid from Gainesville who wants to come to UF wear something like that?

:)
