I'm really not doing VolNotes this week, I find I don't have much to say right now.

I did want to share this amazing little stat that was in today's TFP though...
The Chicago Cubs have won a World Series since the last time, before this year, UT surrendered 40 or more points three times in one season.

In 1893, the Vols lost four consecutive games by a combined score of 256-0. They lost 56-0 to Kentucky A&M, 64-0 at Wake Forest, 70-0 at Trinity College (present-day Duke) and 60-0 at North Carolina.

According to UT’s media guide, the school’s Athletic Association “resolved to drop football ... after the humiliating 1893 season.”

“Only two athletes willing to admit they played on the 1893 team returned to campus in 1894,” according to the guide.

A Vols, Cubs stat. Not something you see everyday...

I saw Steve Bartman at the Georgia game. He said he had a sideline pass for the South Carolina game so....watch out.
