'18 TN DL Greg Emerson (UT commit 7/3/17)

End pays more

Bit of a misnomer.

In 2017, the top NFL defensive player was indeed a DE, Von Miller. At #16, he made $19,083,333. However, right behind him was #17, DT Ndamukong Suh, who made $19,062,500. Next was 315lb "DE" Muhammad Wilkerson at #21 who made $17,200,000. Finally, among the top defensive players was DT Fletcher Cox at #22, made $17,100,000. No other DEs besides Miller in the top 25.

Also, remember that Malik Jackson signed a 6 year, $90 million contract to play DT for the Jags a couple years ago.

Plenty of money to be had as an NFL DT, and virtually no difference

Great day!!

Yes indeed. You win with studs in the trenches. Butch and staff have done a great job pulling some outstanding young OL and DL recruits. Bodes well for the future, especially with Hoke there to coach up the DTs

Say what you want but our ol and dl recruiting has improved to a late 90 s early 2000 level. Coach em up men!

Yeah outside of that class with stone JaWaun, and Zach and then te Tiny class OL recruiting was down but Wells and Hoke have been getting it done and its very impressive. Like Bobby Bowden once said football is 90% talent and 10% coaching

Already been discussed at length. Emerson self-reported 4-6 weeks until he's running on it. Doesn't mean he'll be ready to play, but based on that time table it doesn't sound like serious ligament damage.

That is good news. Just noticed this on twitter.

Everything I've heard is that wasn't as bad as first thought. I still believe he will miss some time at the beginning of the year but not the whole season. He still plans on being here in December also. With the help of Sports,Orthopedics and Spine he will be back at it in no time. That place is amazing at what they do....
