'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

Two more football seasons. Another orange carpet day. Another OSU Friday night lights. Possibly 10 official visits (can you get five per year or five total? Whatever I'm rolling with it)
A crap ton of other schools turning up the heat.
2 signing days before this kid has to sign the line.

A loooooong way to go

I want players who have the best weekend of their lives at Tennessee, otherwise you're probably facing a transfer down the road.

Recruits say that kind of stuff all the time...they serve up more waffles than Waffle House. I want this kid, if he is as good as everyone believes, regardless of what he says the summer after his sophomore year.

best thing to do is keep recruiting the kid. UT's trend line has a potentially greater slope than that of OSU.

I agree, but its also been said distance may be a factor in this recruitment. I don't want him to choose us simply because we are closer. If he ultimately loves Tennessee and wants to be here, I welcome him. If he'd rather go somewhere else, then do that.

Loves both schools. Problem is he was Ohio st fan and urban has more success to point at.

Only get 5 OVs, all during your SR. year.

Just let the season play out. If he sees he can have comparable success closer to home, it could make all the difference.

Officially it's 5 OVs. ALOT of times for the best of the best it can be a bit different. Take Trey Smith for instance. He said his recent trip was just like an OV even though it wasn't. Kids are taken good care of.

What's up with us leading for all of these guys early then just missing out? That's why I'm not confident at all in the Pappoe kid

Well, considering Owen Pappoe is a 2019 recruit, I share your lack of confidence more than two years out.

I also consider that if Emory Jones commits to OSU, he has over 18 months before he can sign with them. Much can change.

See, a lot of people say this and I would tend to agree, but a QB's recruitment is usually more finite and a little different. It doesn't seem like all that often a QB commits early and then does some jumping around. For the most part, QB's commit early to focus on being a cornerstone to a class, help recruit, and to focus on their game.

He could very possibly still look around and maybe make a move, but it just seems like he plans on shutting it down once he makes his final commitment. That's probably why he has been so coy about this whole process and hasn't made an irrational judgement call and committed to some during a moment of pure bliss at one of these big weekend events he has gone to. He takes it a little more seriously than most it seems. Which is a great thing.

They have a commit from Tate Martell...think that's rock solid?
