'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

Not last year they didn't. The SEC Champs went on to become the NC's.

Edit: ......and OSU won by 7 the year before....hardly ran train.

I said sec east champs. Mich vs florida

I wasn't talking about the year osu won the playoff.

He said they were one of the b10's best teams. How far are we going into the B10 here? I would argue they were maybe 5th or 6th.

They lost to the 3 best teams they played and didn't play msu or osu.

Hell, if you're going down that road, the 3rd best team in the big ran train on the sec east champ.

Neither argument makes much sense IMO.
They were 10-2 in the big 10. One of the best teams..... So that probably means 4-5 best. Top third of the league. One of the best teams..... Yet they were a very average p5 team.

As for fla, anyone who paid any attention at all knows they weren't the same team after Grier got suspended. Horrible QB play. So yes they won the east, but by the end of the year they were maybe 6-7 best int the SEC.

Semantics. IMO the 5th or 6th in a conference is not one of the "best teams". For you (or your narrative) it is and that's cool.

Funny how a team that won its division is not one of the best in the sec, but a team that didn't win its division in the b10 is one of the best. But I digress.

No offense, but NW was extremely average.

Umm yeah...that was my point. Is it really that hard to follow the context of a conversation? Lets try again...ELITE players can go play at OSU and Michigan, and play against inferior big 10 competition 90 percent of their games....Big fish-crappy pond. They pretty much each have one team that is even close to equally talented in conference. For example I used our obliteration of NW, who was supposed to be one of the better Big 10 teams.

I still don't know how NW beat Stanford. Must have been sleepwalking that game. If they played any other day Stanford would've won.

It's because Stanford wants to play in a phone booth and Northwestern matches up better in that kind of game.

Recruiting wrap: Jones has been a popular man on the recruiting circuit over the past few months, with Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and others quickly jumping to the front of his list. Jones nearly committed to Tennessee earlier this month before deciding to wait a little longer, partially because of new interest from Ohio State. He very well could end up as the top dual-threat prospect in the class, so the Buckeyes won’t be the first new program to enter the mix.

Prediction: Tennessee. The Vols have the edge now and will need a big name in the 2018 class and Jones is that guy. – Wommack

I think Shaw under-used McCaffrey in that game. Not to mention the game was a 11am start CT in Illinois, so it was like starting a game at 9am for those west coast players. It can be tough to get the motor running for those early game times. We always seem to be lethargic for those noon starts, so I can imagine trying to start a game when your biological clock still thinks it is 9am.
