His problem was building depth. His 2nd and 3rd recruiting classes were light on Oline. Granted, you had the Orlando Brown thing, who is arguably the best OT in college. But for the volume he signed those two years he undersigned Oline and took too many projects on D line.
Not just depth, but he couldnt develop any ot them to their potential. Then throw in a gimmicky offense and blocking scheme that de-emphasized physicality and aggression and you get the bloody mess that our OL was pretty much every season Jones was here. Perhaps we have some talented OLs, some legit SEC guys outside of Trey, but who can tell? Either way, JP, Friend and Helton have their work cut out for them.
