'18 GA LB Quay Walker (UGA signee)

I could be wrong about this, but it's my understanding that colleges have no part in a recruit's NCAA clearance approval process; i.e., transcripts must be submitted directly to the NCAA by the HS. Getting him admitted to UT is a different story, but NCAA clearance is out of UT's control.

that's correct. it's the NCAA clearinghouse, not "school of your choice" clearing house....

I wish he’d cancel that UGA visit

I agree with Hubbs - Vols just have to survive Walker’s Georgia visit. On the other hand, he may just be visiting dawgs to placate his home town crowd. Living near Savannah, I can attest that south Georgia is dawg country.

Pretty much the same type comment I heard over and over again when I said that Georgia was still in it during the Deangelo Gibbs recruitment. Was told I was clueless, to get out, trolling, etc. My daughter went to HS with the kid. You might want to consider the possibility that people who live, work and teach in the communities where these kids live, might know some things. I'm rooting for Peterson to qualify. These kids from small town rural Georgia need every break they can get.

Great for you....every school is in it....until they sign on the dotted line....Some posters will slander others by throwing academics at it, silent commitment, friend of a friend or relative. Small fish big world type of misdirection.

These coaches know the ins and the outs on every player before they offer them a scholarship. Would not do so if they didn't. It is their job to anticipate and identify this type of disqualifier. It is their job!!! to do so and protect all involved....

25 max scholarships are priceless. Offers are as well. Coaches know....so be it. The student-athlete Know as well. To do so is an issue and if they are tight rope walking on every scholarship out, offered and accepted then they are not doing their job.

Kids react coaches don't they are proactive. So if he has a scholarship offer that his not been pulled then he is in if he signs with Tennessee.

It's young posters and trolls that play this game.

They know 100% before paperwork gets to the clearinghouse....

Walker informed us that he is leaning elsewhere...likely TN.

...unless they suck and the it becomes Gator country, except when both of those suck then it becomes Gamecock country—unless all three of them are bad then it becomes Clemson territory.

The worst was in the Tebow years. The big box stores would have mostly Florida stuff, some Georgia stuff, and possibly one rack of Georgia Southern. In Statesboro, home of the Eagles.

You are right. I should have said ‘currently’ dawg country. In general the dawg crowd is a whimsical bunch in that regard.

That is true for 49 states, not Alabama. I guess quick to forget Alabama HS changing transcripts give certain players. There is some help that some get, B.J. Emmons took ‘special’ tests after the school year to get into Bama.

First post ever with "insider info", comes with zero e-cred so TIFWIW.

Co-worker of mine is good buddys with a position coach at UGA. Weve been discussing Quay this week and he just came by the desk and said that Quay is going to be a Vol and that they are moving their focus back to Otis Reese.

Everyone knows they SHOULD be skeptical of your info, but deep down, we're all taking it as gospel truth. :hi:

I will be heartbroken over this one. 30 years following recruiting and there is always one lynchpin type recruit I really want but secretly fear we will find a way to lose

BVS is real

A lot of those kids in South Georgia, Lowndes County/Valdosta, go to FSU. Maybe more than Georgia.

Yup. Growing up in Valdosta, I remember the NCAAF gear on the racks at most stores that carried it was a mix of FSU, UF, UGA stuff with a few token items of GT gear thrown into the mix.

So if Walker comes here will your BVS be cured or just in remission?

Maybe Quay ends up not making the trip to Athens.

Georgia Tech? What state are they from? (I see more Tennessee stuff here than GT)

And there’s a ton of untapped talent here, south of Macon. Coaches just have to make up their mind to drive down here.
