'18 GA DE Azeez Ojulari

It is amazing how well he did starting as a 14 year old on a team that started pretty much all FR and SO's. I live here and my kids are in the Marietta program, though youth football. The high school is loaded this year and he will end up with every passing record in the state before he is done. He has 4 or 5 D1 Wr's and a D1 TE. They will all be together for a few more years too.

How good is Ojulari? It's always said, but some say his younger brother is even better?

I know someone who knows their parents and what I hear is refreshing. They cannot believe that college education can be free for their sons. Sister is doing med school, correct? They are Nigerian immigrants of 20 years but have worked multiple jobs to get a good living for their kids. Azeez is a yes sir type kid and humble, both for football and for living here.

He is really good and will be a lot better stat wise this year with the transfers that came in from other schools so there is no way he can be double teamed.

His brother is a lot further along at this point than Azeez. He is another of the 10 or so 2020 kids that have tons of offers for Marietta so far. He has offers from pretty much every SEC and ACC school so far.

I don't know him or his family personally. I've never heard anything but good things about him though. It's a bit of a generalization, but we have quite a few African immigrants in Marietta and they all work really hard and their kids are successful. My kids go to a STEM magnet school and a lot of their classmates are first generation Americans with their parents coming from Africa. They are always tremendously polite and hard working.

Good info, thanks! :hi:

Any updates on his announcement? It was supposed to be at 3 PM today at his high school. I don't see anything on Twitter, etc.

Commitment Watch is on for multiple schools this week. Marietta (Ga.) 4-star rush end Azeez Ojulari is set to commit at his school Thursday August 17th at 2:45pm ET. He was very busy over the summer taking trips, seeing different schools and searching for that perfect fit. Ojulari feels he has found that.

"I am ready, I am comfortable and I am set to make my decision," said Ojulari. "I have visited each school on my list and I am ready. "It has been tough to get here because there are so many good schools involved. Each school offers great things and it was not an easy decision. I can't really go wrong, so it is about where I felt most comfortable and it was a very hard decision to make." "Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Clemson and Auburn are the ones I am down to. I like those six schools a lot and I feel I cannot go wrong with any of them."

"It started happening for me over the summer. I started to lean towards a school late in June or early in July. It was about the bond with the coaches first, then it was how I got along with the players and just how I felt when I got on that campus. "My feelings for that school have just gotten stronger now and that is why I am ready to make my decision."

"My head coach (Richard Morgan), my mom and dad, my brothers and sisters have all helped me with my decision. My family was on every visit with me, we have discussed this almost every night for a while and they have helped me a lot. "We talk about everything, but more than anything, my parents have talked about the after-life, once football is over. We talk about jobs, who could set me up best for that and things like that. I have not made this decision on my own. I have had a lot of help."

Now, all will have to wait to see who Ojulari chooses on Thursday. Not only will fans and other recruits have to wait to find out the news, but the college coaches do not know yet either. He may not tell them until after the news is out. "I have not decided when I will tell all of the schools where I am going yet," said Ojulari. "I may tell them right before the press conference or I may wait until afterwards. I am still working on that."

Really? Any particular reason why?

Fills a need. We have a good position coach for him. He said relationships were an importing factor, in which we excel. We were one of his latest visits, around the time he made his decision. And sporting Tennessee gear. I just like our chances.

Why are we struggling to recruit the DE position? I would think that with Barnett we would be able to land a highly ranked guy like Ojulari
