'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

Austin Price talked to him and did a short video. He said everyone was even, and he mentioned Walt Wells as the coach he was closest too for us.

Sounds to me we need to go ahead and promote him. Seems every time they talk to a mid state guy they mention him as the coach they most connect with. I also believe Ray has a connection, could be wrong.

Not sure but everybody trashes Mahoney lol. I believe he was oline coach at South Florida. Saw the players like him from other posts.

He was a excellent coach while at WKU. Incidently, I saw him Saturday at a basketball game that I was officiating. He was hard to miss all decked out in TN orange. Apparently, his family has remained in BG.

Hopefully, Butch gives him the position.

Thoughts on Walt Wells as a teacher/coach and recruiter?

Just looked at his bio on EKU's website. Looks like he could be a solid OL coach, has gotten many non FBS/ small school players to free agent signings with NFL teams, and developed many players to all conf accolades. Also been an OC and produced good offensive results at those levels. Dunno about recruiting, but I'd say he'd be good for midTN/ KY. Graduated from Belmont, played at Austin Peay 4yrs.

Was offered by Miss St today and plans on going down to check it out. This is one of the strongest kids I have ever seen or been around. Always humble and has a smile on his face regardless of what's going on even recently.

Gave it a like and nothing pro UT. Just good info. Good post. Wish this kid well.

Knowing this kids mom, I know he is a really good kid! This coming from you only proves it. I really hope CBJ and Co put a full court press on this kid until he tells them to leave.

I want the whole top 12 at least. There are some really good players in this class

I think there's a good chance of getting 8 or the top 10 in the state just by looking at depth and need. Also, as been stated before, many of these kids seem to excited about the Tennessee offer, but that may just be my orange shades on.

Yea, I hope its different this time, but last year at this time, 2017 looked like a top 5 class, which seemed even more likely considering we looked poised to finish in the 8-12 range.

That's probably a little too optimistic IMO.

Seems like every year there are a few in state kids the coaches decide to pass up for an out of state kid they prefer for one reason or another.

And of course, nowadays the mid state is full of kids who grew up fans of other schools and fee no loyalty towards UT.

This time last year we had Hunter Johnson and Tee Higgins on board and figured we had a great shot with Deangelo Gibbs, Rutger Reitmeir, the OLB from NC who went to Clemson, and a couple other DLs who were mid-high rated 4 stars.

Around this time last year, I think most of us were thinking that, at worst, we'd finish with 9-10 regular season wins and a top 8 class. There were plenty who were more optimistic and were calling for a New Years six game and a top 5 class.

Bass being overly optimistic? Never seen that before lol

All jokes aside we will bring in 7-9 IMO.

That's what I'm thinking right now. Kids in this class seem a bit higher on us out of the gate this year.

No telling if the coaches will find kids they like better elsewhere or not though.

I think we end up with this kid, Lawless, Emerson,Teague,Harris,Kellogg at least from the state. We already got Taylor and Mays. We should be looking solid in recruiting in state this year.
