California offensive lineman Tommy Brown had seen the SEC from afar but wanted an up close look at the best football conference in the country.

His father, an Alabama graduate, has seen it in person before and was more than happy to take Brown around the Southeast to see LSU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Alabama. “I’ve always been a fan of SEC football and Alabama football so I’ve told people I always want to go to the SEC and he said he would take me in the middle of July to see it at its worst,” Brown said.

“The first time I went online and researched schools Tennessee’s facilities popped up and I watched the video and I sent an email to my dad and asked him if these were real or if it’s want they want to have. He let me know they were real,” Brown explained. “Tennessee is now in the top five and they’re really good and I like to win. Having a good winning program and great facilities and good coaches made me want to come here.”

Brown spent last Thursday working with Tennessee offensive line coach Don Mahoney and liked the different experience he received. “He’s definitely Pittsburgh, as coach Day said. It was fun working with him and it’s nice getting to get uptempo,” Brown said. “He’s likes yelling and he’s loud and he get’s us going fast. It’s a lot more running.”

6'7" and 315 lbs? And only a Junior? Nice! With that height, wonder what kind of footwork he has?

And what kind of hands? Love to see a safety trying to cover someone that size in the endzone on a tackle-eligible play!

Simon played at De La Salle. Burnett graduated from Carson but also played at Dominguez. Fulmer could pull them from coast to coast back in the day.

hard pull form CA.. Most kids stay on the west coast

Hard to get them all the way to Knoxville. We have pulled a few from there in the past. Clausen, Bray, Burnett, Stallworth, Simon and Smith, etc. Will be interesting to see if Butch will start hitting that area again. Loads of talent there.

Maybe that was the school Khalil was scheduled to play for and then ended up disqualified his senior season? IDK, maybe I'm dreaming?

Anyway, kid looks like a monster. With our OL depth he could redshirt and have a year of S&C. Wow!

Khalil did transfer from De La Salle to Clayton Valley Charter and was then disqualified. Looking for KMac to dominate this year now that he is back in great football shape. Losing that senior year was tough.
