so much for that higher GPA UT's bragging about now. How do you go from drinking alcohol to this?

That frat should be kicked off campus.

The guy hospitalized was 20, so it's fairly safe to assume that he wasn't a pledge. I'm sure Pike will be on the receiving end of some pretty stringent sanctions, but for UT to kick them off campus would be an overreaction.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if their international organization came in and cleaned house... again.

I knew I saw this somewhere before

Death by Alcohol Enema - This death from '1000 Ways to Day' is one that could obviously be real, as ingesting alcohol in any form can be deadly. Here the man's reason for wanting the alcohol enema is that he just had throat surgery and can't drink it, so he has his wife give him an alcohol enema composed of sherry. Since it bypasses the digestive tract and goes straight to the bloodstream, an alcohol enema makes whatever alcohol is used take effect faster, which can lead to alcohol poisoning and death much more quickly that ingesting alcohol by mouth. So this is another death from '1000 Ways to Die' that we can all learn a very valuable life lesson from: alcohol is already deadly, but ingesting it the wrong way makes it even more so.

They are. Seems they had another problem a few years back that required some cleaning up.

If pikes nationals come in and don't pull their charter I will be surprised. This is just a little more than a kid getting alcohol poisoning. This is a black eye for them nationally... On top of the hazing incident and staph infection problems they had recently. I would imagine they'll suspended the chapter... If nationals doesn't, UT should.

I would guess that he was a pledge. That sounds like something people would do during a hazing. It isn't uncommon for older guys to join frats. When I was at UT, there was a guy who was about 24 that had just gotten out of the marines that joined a frat I was friendly with.
