We will always have attrition in the current roster, but we will have to see some healthy attrition to get to the 85 number by August 2017.

Speaking of defensive linemen, Elijah Conliffe hosted Steve Stripling in his home Thursday night. Friday he heads to Gainesville to see the Gators. The last weekend of the month he is scheduled to be at Alabama, although the Tide is tight with numbers (25 commitments) and are hosting three uncommitted defensive linemen this weekend including defensive end LaBryan Ray. It will be interesting to see where Conliffe is on Alabama's board following this weekend.

Next week Conliffe will host head coach Butch Jones in his home. It's interesting that in the Vols assembling of this defensive line class we have heard prospects mention and compliment Steve Stripling a lot. He's had a big impact on this class.

Note that McElwain has already had his in-home with Conliffe. Butch is scheduled to be in-home today and Rumph "might come through" on Tuesday. From the article:

Conliffe said an official visit to Louisville is possible next weekend, while adding that his recruitment is down to Penn State, Tennessee, Florida as well as the Cardinals. Prior to announcing a commitment on January 31, Conliffe expects several coaches by his house to see him this week.


“Coach [Chris] Rumph might come through on Tuesday. Monday is Coach [Butch] Jones, and Thursday is I think Coach [James] Franklin.”

This is great news for Tennessee. If Alabama is out of the mix, I really like where we sit right now with Conliffe. My understanding is there isn't much optimism from the Florida side.
