'17 TN RB Ty Chandler (UT signee)

No way this is happening. If it does, then Jones idea of a wall around TN is made up of paper mache.

Butch must have gone on another gut punching spree with Thigpen behind him unleashing a barrage of "yo mama" jokes at recruits.

Apparently the UGA 247 mods say UGA leads for Chandler now.

WTF is going on

I haven't seen that at all. I saw where Rusty said that Chandler is one of the four RBs we're recruiting hard right now and that "(UGA) is in better shape with him that a lot of people think", but that is FAR from saying that we lead.

247 staff have all said that it is probably Swift and Carter are the most likely. UT still Chandler's leader I think.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the guy who posted about in on VQ may have just been stirring up trouble.

In my eyes losing Chandler would hurt every but as much as Higgins. Can't happen.

You guys worried for nothing. D4H has promised us that Kelly is better than Hurd or Kamara.

Seriously though, gotta get Chandler. Probably another one as well.

Yup. IMO Chandler is a more important recruit than any of the other in state guys. Stevens, Higgins, and Smith are all elite, no doubt. But we're pretty set at their positions so missing them wouldn't hurt as badly in the immediate future.

Chandler, on the other hand, we need to be a part of our RB rotation in 2017. No doubt about it.

Losing Chandler, should it happen (and I don't think it will), would send immediate huge red flags about everything recruiting-related in 2016.

We're about to put 2 RBs into the NFL, one of whom is an in-state guy who will have broken the record for rushing yards at UT in 3 years. And the position will be WIDE OPEN in 2017.

Hell, Chandler could be "meh" on playing for the Vols and still choose us based on the depth chart alone. He will be heavily featured in the offense and could start or at least be the 1b option with Kelly day one.

UGA rivals guys updated their class predictions yesterday and on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the most confident) they have Chandler a 2. They think they get swift and Carter.

Akers is a 3 in their opinion of confidence

It absolutely would. It'd make me believe something is going on that we don't know about. But it's still early and we gotta whole 7 months left

Send out the GFW signal. :matrix:

Everything I'm hearing is that Georgia likely leads for Swift and Carter at the moment...but Swift is scheduled to take visits to Bama, Clemson and I believe another school or two...so that could change. I think Akers is probably trending to somewhere other than Georgia; maybe OSU; and I wouldn't count out Ole Miss; pending the resolution of their off field issues. My guess is that Tenn leads for Chandler and I haven't seen anything to indicate that Georgia is trending for him. Kirby is holding a big three day camp in July, and I would think that if Chandler had any interest in Georgia he would attend that event. I haven't heard one way or the other.
