Stud RB. Reminds me of a former Vol from just up the road from Nashville ...

very impressive kid, long slim frame but plays very physical. Came to camp but was not able to participate. Will be a big time recruit in the 17 class.

Stylistically or body makeup? Thompson outweighed Chandler by about 35 lbs.

Are you comparing a high school sophomores weight to a college RB's weight? This kid will easily get to 200lbs at 5'11 and a long frame. Really hope we get this kid, great combination of RB skills.

Edit - just read where LT was 5'10" and played at 217. I doubt this kid gets that thick, but 205 similar to Kamara would probably ideal.

He was 205 coming out of high school. He was about 180 as a sophomore. They have very comparable builds and skill set.

I bet Chandler would also be a great DB like Leroy was.

Nice edit. :)

He is listed anywhere from 165-180 right now, so I agree that 200-205 seems realistic if his current weight is closer to the 180 mark. I just don't see how he adds 35-40 lbs to his frame to get towards LT's size and maintains his speed and agility.

Maybe I'm wrong though. LittleVol seems to think so.

Leroy didn't pan out at the next level. One of the UT coaches told me he always thought Thompson would have made a tremendous SS but RB was the only thing he would consider.

I wouldn't say he didn't pan out. He finished his college career with 1215 yds rushing, 416 yds receiving, and scored 12 TDs, was drafted in the 6th round, and had a decent 6 year pro career for a sixth round pick. He was never an all-american or all-pro, but he made a nice living as a pro and got an education playing for one of the best programs in the country.

Chandler and Richardson in 2017. It couldn't have come at a better time to have 2 high quality RBs in state considering Hurd and Kamara will shuffle off into the NFL by then.

I really hope we get Richardson. I get excited about big, powerful backs (no homo or TWSS). I think Chandler might be a tougher pull with him being an Ole Miss legacy. I think we get Hayden though if we push for him.

I think we get Hayden if we take him.

I think we take Hayden but he is being looked at as more of a slot receiver than a running back on the camp scene so maybe we could get Hayden, Richardson, and Chandler even though Chandler might end up a Ole Miss.
