Gosh I hope we get stokes. Isaiah is a very solid versatile prospect, and 2 big versatile guys in this class would be absolutely huge!!

I had heard on Vq from Swan man who is pretty good on info said that Stokes had an issue on the visit and the ship had sailed.

Had an issue on his visit to Knoxville? Care to elaborate? If not I understand. I expected him to go with Iowa State anyhow.

He would not elaborate. It's not from a mod. Just a poster who I have seen hit on a few things. But the mods are now saying that Tennessee would not mind carrying that scholarship over and that Iowa State may be the team to beat.

Especially when it is a power house program like Iowa State. If only he were a legacy, or if UT was in his home state. You know, something to give Barnes the upper hand.

Wait so we are drawing conclusions from this statement - so he has said nothing to anyone but we assume he is leaning Iowa St??

I think he is leaning Tennessee and I have just as much information as everyone else.

I really don't think the fact that his brother played here helps us much considering his brother didn't have the highest opinion of the university or the fan base when he left here. Also you should know like everyone else that in state kids are never a lock for us in Men's basketball, especially with kids from the Memphis area.

You really don't know much about basketball if you think that Iowa State has a crappy program. If I'm not mistaken they have one of the longest current streaks of weeks as a ranked program.

So, do you guys think we will land stokes or no? I saw 247 has him 56% vols. This would be a huge get with Kent already here as well. Get stokes and I think we are a pretty decent team next year.

This year however... could be a long year haha

So was just wondering if anyone had any info?

We're about halfway through the early signing period. I guess it's a good thing that he hasn't picked Iowa State yet. Maybe he's waiting to see who signs where before deciding where to go.

Hard to get a kid out of Memphis for us. Brother did not leave a happy man because of his perceived treatment of quizzno . So with the reputation of Barnes may actually pull it off. Got to think its not a negative sign since he has not signed with IS yet. He will be better served after college ( not sure if he is pro potential at this time) in the state of Tennessee more so than Iowa. :mf_surrender:

Exactly. I don't think people realize how Black people can react to someone making fun of a "Black" name. We see it as racist. A lot of players would not like to come some where that happens.

I can't speak on the racial part much, though I wouldn't be surprised that some do it because that, as I've heard white people make fun of "black" names. But also I'm sure some people do it trying to be clever; see Candy, others just can't spell; see Dormandy.

Well then I will use the name Mr. Martin. My best friend is AA and I am not a racist. I asked him about your comment and he said that some people are always looking for something to complain about. Was not meant to be racist. Mr. Martin chose to leave and he was well paid. I hope he does well at Cal where everything is perfect.

I guess they need a safe zone. People called me Frito growing up, because of my last name. I guess it was racist.
You continue to plunge deeper into crazy land.
