'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

This was a cash deal pure and simple IMO. I really don't care.

Was it? Someone posted on VQ yesterday that it was too. Said Clemson outbid UT ($250k) for his services. Anytime this kind of stuff is mentioned people freak out but I don't know why. It's pretty naive to think bag men aren't still out there influencing decisions. Either way, he's not a Vol so it seems we need more bag men.

OV hinted at this right after Tee's commitment. He's one of the few people's inside information I actually trust.

Some programs seem to get away with it where others do not for some reason. Maybe they are just better at it. Then you have some that flaunt it with seemingly no ramifications. It is a pretty dirty business.

How are people figuring 250k cash deal? It's kind of hard to hide that much lucre, especially from the tax man.

$250K is chump change to some of these boosters. Take it out over time in small increments. Under $10K I think doesn't flag the feds. Several boosters doing this and you can get some serious amounts of cash available to purchase resources.

Agreed, we have plenty of our own bag men, just like every competitive football school

His mother is also misremembering or lying because twitter has pictures that show butch sitting amongst the crowd with no VIP ropes. Sure the troopers are with him but coaches show up in helicopters and other silly means.

In addition, the article says that Butch visited during Tee's junior year, therefore, he could not speak to Tee or his family. That changes the entire narrative.

Edit: didn't see that it was an update. Saw it in article.

Wow. What a pathetic time we live in that this trash is allowed past the editor..

Crap like this is exactly why I don't get the Sentinel any longer. I get text updates from them though. What's funny they've texted me twice for this article. The second on was a "ICYMI". They are a piece of ****e producing rag of a newspaper.

We really should be thankful that he did not select Tennessee. He is not worth the trouble that he and his family would have caused.

I suspect that at some point, UT tired of the games and moved on and folks close to Tee were not happy that UT moved on.

Larger bags....

And one only spews this stuff out if one is bitter. I really wonder if someone is regretting burning their bridges and now needs to make it the fault of someone else.
