I played football. Lettered 3 out of my 4 years in HS. I do remember rib shots in the pile and knuckleheads trying to put their fingers in your facemask. But I don't ever recall going knuckledeep in someone's exit hatch ever being acceptable. Sounds like Bouleware has some self identifying issues he is currently working through. Has to be a millennial thing. 20 years ago, a guy would have taken a horrible beating for that sort of tactic.
