'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Josh Malone has made considerable strides this year. Jennings publicly went after Preston when he left for being entitled. WRs are hard to coach because of their mentality. Being completely honest here: if we are honestly already seeing this type of drama from a player before they step on campus, if it really in our benefit to take him and exclude someone else of need? Tee is a good athlete and may prove to be successful, but work ethic/dedication/honesty means something to me too. Those are qualities that I think CZA pushes in his players and there are ones that respond and others that quit. Tee actively lied to our staff. I really don't care about anything else he does or will do, cause I've learned all I need to. #endthisfingthread

I talked to Swain about Tee as he's a close advisor and works with Tee some. I was told there's an issue with unhappy Wrs and the things Tee has heard and been told. Tee is close with several guys on the team and despite me thinking things were better offensively on the Wr/Azzani front that monster keeps showing its face. He's ikely going to stick per his cousin because of watchibg guys like Williams has to impress young Wrs in which Clemmons is pursuing

Interesting, Swain said on his show that he is mentoring Amari Rodgers and that he has never met Tee Higgins. He said this about a week ago, so something doesn't add up.

Still don't understand why people are holding out hope for Tee. I see him on Twitter all the time retweeting Clemson fans that talk about how our "fans" on twitter treat him. It doesn't look like he has any interest in flipping. He's gone. Time to move on and try and land another elite WR.

Tee is so good he can flourish in any offense. He's more talented than Williams, Malone or North.
And he's a lifelong Vol fan right in our backyard.

You have to try, at the very least keep an open door policy.

Clemson is a great choice for a WR. But Tee would still do just fine here.

they both have spent time with him and worked out with him too. Btw though he's my boy Swain is how Preston got to UT and he has denounce his relationship with him too, but for different reasons I'm sure. Preston frustrated many during his time in Knoxville.

Our team is still struggling to find an offensive identity. And that doesn't help.

Injuries have slowed development at times.

I think our coaches all teach good fundamentals. It's the overall cohesive vision that I question.

It starts from the top. Our offense should be better. We've seen it be better.

This year, UT's offense is more pass-run balanced than Clemson.

No, not really.

We throw it 42% of the time and throw it 58% of the time.

Conversely, Clemson has better balance....they throw it 52% and run it 48% of the time.

Math and words...other than that, he pretty much nails everything. :)

I looked at yards gained from scrimmage. Clemson 64% passing-36% rushing while UT had 57% passing and 43% rushing.

I'm usually with you De1, but I expressly heard Swain say last week that he works personally with Amari and knows him well, but that he has never worked with Tee, nor does he even know him. Said he's never actually met Tee, has only spoken to Tee's coach.

Said this in response to people accusing him of telling WR recruits not to go to Tennessee, which of course is ridiculous.

I looked at total plays run, pass plays vs run plays. My bad, didn't quite understand where you were coming from. Looks like we were both right depending on how you want to measure it.

And honestly, either way you slice it, if you're a WR, you'd rather play in Clemson's offense.

Or even Texas Tech if your sole reason to pick a university is to go somewhere where you can be the big star. The WR nonsense is overplayed. Makes me think we have adults claiming to be VFLs putting that crap in kid's heads.

Why is it ridiculous? Here is a theory..Dejuan is telling the truth. Swain really has been working with Tee and Amari both, but doesn't want it known that he is actively pushing kids elsewhere. At least the Barber admits he does.

18 year old WR recruits generally want to go to schools who throw the football, where they'll have opportunities to catch the ball, that's all I'm saying. I'm sure there are plenty of WR recruits who perhaps look at Texas Tech as you described. My guess is there are still many more who look at a perrennial top 10 team with an outstanding passing offense as a very attractive place to play and aren't potentially seen as only having success due to "the system".

Just seems odd that a kid that grew up a UT fan and lives in the area decides to leave while his supposed favorite team is on the upswing. Couple that with Swain lying about his involvement around the same time he stated he would choose Bama if they were where they are currently at. Something doesn't pass the smell test.

Cause he's a future NFL pro-bowler. He would be the best receiver in program history. Thats why we're still holding out hope.

Swain said Tennessee was a business decision. If I'm a wide receiver I would probably at least look at Other teams . Mostly Virginia Tech

I'm more stuck on Swain lying about not knowing Tee Higgins. If Swain is in Knoxville for business purposes while posing as a VFL, I would imagine the coaches and the university should know upfront so they know how they should treat Swain. If he's here for business that means he is not part of the Vol family and shouldn't be treated as such. He is simply media who dabbles in high school kids college decisions because of his personal past experiences in college football. All I'm saying is let's unmuddy the waters and see where everyone stands.
