'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

There is no more loyalty to playing for your home town team anymore...Back in the day kids grew up dreaming of playing for the home team and being that shining star everyone would talk about for years to come...Now they just want to go where they think they will get to play immediately...I honestly do not even want this kid anymore..Go to Clemson Tee, We at Tennessee will be just fine.

That still exists, just not here. LSU gets pretty much any Louisiana kid that they want. Bama and Auburn get the best AL talent as long as they grew up a fan which all kids there do.

Ah Dooley, the gift that keeps on giving. He almost single handily destroyed tons of relationships with HS in Tennessee. Of course thats what happens when you have one of the worst coaches of all time doing his thing.

Mike Hamilton is truly the gift that keeps on giving. He fired Fulmer without a legitimate replacement lined up. He then turned away Brian Kelly and Gary Patterson, among others, for Lane Kiffin and did not even have a substantial buyout for if he left after one season, which is stupid because the only way UT would get rid of him after one year is for cause and then a buyout wouldn't have mattered anyway. He then had Cutcliffe, not Dooley, lined up but insisted that Cutcliffe keep Chaney and another assistant whereas Cut wanted his whole staff to make the move. Had Hamilton made one right move, UT would have never seen the Dooley years and we would still probably be viewed as a national power. In reality, in spite of our long history of success, we are now having to claw our way back to being viewed as a national power. I really wish Hamilton had the capabilities to have been a good AD because so much of this is his fault.

The Dooley stinch in those regards has ran its course. Jones has been here long enough with his staff to not rely on the perception of a Dooley ran program.

We probably should be grateful for this lack of hometown loyalty. Prospects in Tennessee are better lately and I hope that trend continues, but we still have to recruit all over the Southeast and some Nationally to be able to compete in this conference.

So what does turtles say about Higgins to TN?

No offense, but you are just wrong. You are just a fan who fails to realize just exactly what Dooley did to Tennessee football.

I said in another thread that Tee is the next to commit tonight.

Does that make me an inside outer or an outside inner?

I apologize or being wrong up front!!!!!

We're still not utilizing our WRs well. We get a lot of pass yards from screens.

Tee is going to Clemson

I talked to Swain about Tee as he's a close advisor and works with Tee some. I was told there's an issue with unhappy Wrs and the things Tee has heard and been told. Tee is close with several guys on the team and despite me thinking things were better offensively on the Wr/Azzani front that monster keeps showing its face. He's ikely going to stick per his cousin because of watching guys like Williams has to impress young Wrs in which Clemson is pursuing

Very true ppl hv to stop blaming Dooley, Kiffin, & Hamilton the issues here are UT now offensively under CBJ. Lack of Wr production and an unbalanced offense.

... what?

this is what I got. Tee heard about unhappy players and it's Azzanni's fault. he is going to stay with Clemson because of their WR production vs ours... is that what you're saying?

The UT coaches have had to re-evaluate as well after he told them on Friday before the July 4 announcement that he was coming to Knoxville.

Unhappy WRs-- Malone, he has played soft at times, but has also come through at times... seems like inconsistent play is on him not the coach... PWilly, I hope you were not referring to him when you said Williams... he was a drama queen who needed to go, plenty of those across the country... again, you could say something about, or blame the coach, but when he was on the field, he did not impress- dropped balls and one that hit him in the face... Josh Smith- at this point in his career, he is dropping way too many balls, so again, he is there, the opportunity is there, but he is not performing on the field... JJ- beast.... then you have the freshman crop.... Even though plenty has been said about Azzani and i certainly don't think he is the best position coach, most of this is on the kids not getting it done on the field and they are looking for someone to blame it on. If Higgins and those close to him can't see this, then he will probably be an issue if he came here, and we don't need another PWilly. Besides, can't believe he is not processing that Dobbs is gone after this season and JG and Dormady are great passers who will force Debord, or whoever is calling the plays next year to adjust the offense to showcase and get the most out of those talents... you add all that up and it sounds like Higgins is just making excuses... How about go in there and be confident enough in your ability to force the OC to adjust the scheme to fit WRs because they are producing?

Not doubting this conversation took place, but didn't Swain recently respond to someone on Twitter saying he has never spoke with Tee Higgins? Wonder how a person can go from being a mentor to supposedly never having an encounter with a kid.
