'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

It doesn't matter if he recruited them; apparently all it takes his playing for him at some point. You think Fisher was drafted simply because Butch recruited him?

No I think Dooley didn't recruit athletes who are good enough to get to the NFL. Maybe the reason we haven't been very good. So the not sending people to NFL falls on Dooley not Butch. Starting this season if no one gets drafted it falls on Butch.

Is he still taking official visits? If we have a 10-2 season and show signs of improvement in the passing game. Then he will be a Vol.

It was more of a tongue in cheek comment for those who think the reason Fisher was the #1 overall pick is because he made 2 starts for Butch as a FR.

Can't spell traitor without it either.

If he does, his spot may be up for grabs. IF..IF he takes visits, IMO he's decided not to sign with Clemson.

Feaster is at Clemson correct. I think 5 stars kids are the exception. Tee could take all 5 officials and if he still decides on Clemson he will sign with Clemson.

FYI I have no clue where he signs

Feaster did take visits. I believe Dabo honors the commitments he takes. If a kid takes visits the spot is up for grabs. It comes down to can they find a comparable replacement before the kid recommits. It worked out for Feaster. It hasn't for other highly rated Clemson commits who lost their spots taking trips.

Clemson is the only university that offers full ride scholarships? How did it not work out for other highly rated recruits when they just went to one of the other 30 schools that offered? Kind of a silly rule by Dabo.

I don't think it's silly at all. Just don't commit till you're done with the process. If a kid is taking trips, he's a risk to flip. I think it can work and obviously Clemson is making it work just fine.

Well of course they are. They change the rules if a kid is highly rated. You really think Dabo tells a 5 star recruit there's no room in the inn if he takes a visit? If so, name some.

I find solace in the fact that trolls are dicks in real life too....

I don't follow Clemson recruiting. Until this year when they started cherry picking our target list, never really worried about what they were up to. I do recall reading about a LB who was highly rated last cycle or the one before who was dropped for taking visits. I'm not sure if he was a 4 or a 5 star. As I said, what I read mentioned the recruit who takes trips isn't just dropped and out. If he reaffirms before they find a replacement he may still have a spot. Of course if it's a recruit they didn't feel good about who decides to take visits, they will just use it as an opportunity to replace him.

Schools do pass on 5* talent. The consensus of the board was we passed on Landon Dickerson just last year. It happens. Not every 5* is a good fit.

This is not a hard concept to understand but you manage to struggle with it. Dabo does not say "if you visit other schools, you will NEVER attend Clemson on a football scholarship." It's along the lines of "if you visit other schools, consider your spot open and IF the 2nd man on our board wants to commit, we'll take him". They're not gonna replace Feaster in July with a kid they're saving an offer for on NSD if everyone else leaves them at the altar. It's going to be a comparable player.

If this ever were to become a thing, which I'm fine with, I sure as heck don't want a hear a coach say something like, "better jump on board before all the spots are taken."
