He needs to see that Clemson has been good because they have D Watson and they play in the ACC!!. Bye bye to Watson at Clemson, say hello Guarantano at UT, whom is as talented- yet young, and Dormady is better than any QB at Clemson not DW. If Tee uses his head he will come back home
I will just add that I think some of you are giving Clemson way too much credit for how good they will be in 2016. They lost a ton off of their defense. It wasn't just Lawson and Dodd, they had 5 players drafted off their defense in the first 109 draft picks and 7 defensive players drafted in total. Only Ohio St and Alabama lost more talent off their defense than Clemson did. Unlike Ohio St and Alabama, Clemson doesn't just reload every year on that side of the ball. They don't have talent stockpiled. They will still be explosive offensively but defense is another story. I think they're vulnerable vs Auburn in the opener and are in for a dip this season. Whether or not it makes a difference in their recruiting remains to be seen but they may not be the 'flavor of the month' at season's end.
Do these kids not realize that there is no guarantee that the coach at any school they choose will be at that school for the entire time they play there?
There are expectations at every school. If Clemson were to lose to Auburn, South Carolina, FSU - do they not realize that the seat would start to get very warm at Clemson especially considering the talent they have secured over the last couple of years? Insert any coach at any school where expectations are high for both on the field and off the field for the players.
Good coaches also move on and up - Saban could retire and I can guarantee you some big time school would lose their coach to Alabama - because they would go for the best.
I guess it depends on what you consider reloading. You said they lost 7 players off the defense to the draft. It made me curious if they had reloaded or were taking a step back. So I figured why not take a look. In the past 2 classes Clemson has signed 13 4-5* defensive recruits. A couple those being 5* DTs. To me, I'd think that's very much reloading. Especially in the ACC.
If Saban retires, my money would be on Clemson losing Dabo to the Tide.
Putting their weak a$$ conference aside (which is not part of this argument)... I strongly disagree especially for a defense which was not that good a year ago when facing quality competition. They allowed 37 points to UNC and 32 points to SC (and even 27 to Wake)...and we won't even talk about the Alabama game... We will see but anyone they are bringing off their bench now, has very little experience (they lost 8 starters)... and also 13 4 or 5 stars is not exactly what Alabama does over a two year period either. I stand by what I said.
Of course they aren't signing bama quantity 4-5* talent. They didn't have that quantity to start with. I'd think reloading would be replacing what you had with similar talent.
