'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

I think the only way Tee would decommit from Clemson would be for Clemson not to win like they easily should this year or a coaching change.

Even then I'm not sure he would. Amari, Hunter and Tee seem like they want to play together there.

I just wish Tee would look and see how our passing game is when Quinten has stepped in for Dobbs. That's how it will be when Jarret or Sheriron are starting.

Ohio State plays in a pathetic conference too. They could never compete in the SEC and beat our champion. Oh wait.

It's foolish to think Ohio State's and Clemson's weak schedule doesn't have anything to do with their road to an National Championship. It sure as hell helps and I'd give anything for Tennessee to be in the ACC or the Big 10. Just more wins for us.

The point is regardless of their schedule they're good enough to compete with our best from a talent standpoint. If you don't think OSU would be battling for an SEC championship every year under Meyer then you're foolish. OSU just put 14 players in the NFL in one draft! That kind of talent can win any league. OSU is the closest team to Bama in terms of talent on paper and the "gap" isn't getting any bigger.

I thought we beat our chests about the SEC and how much better it is to be in tough league? Now we want to be in a "crappy" league?

Some people love to argue so much, they spend copious amounts of time and energy defending ohio state and clemson. Ridiculous.

How do you know what he told the coaches? Have you talked with one of them about it?

Well, I know that Coach Jones had a tweet the morning of the announcement that had five oranges. I think that the only way he puts that tweet out is if he had been assured that Tee was coming. There were also reports that the staff was shocked when he went to Clemson. Again, why would they be shocked unless he told them he was coming to Tennessee? It is circumstantial, I guess, but it is sure enough to convince me. Next time I talk to Coach Jones, I will tell him that Volinnooga wants to know what Tee told him.

It's been truly interesting reading this thread. So many valid points on each side.
I have absolutely no idea what was going on inside of his head. My predictions are about as informed as my dog when he's sure I actually threw the ball this time.
I will say this however, if he truly loves UT and made any kind of mistake, I would welcome him with open arms and a chance to win with him.
OTOH, if he only views a school as his best chance to succeed, I've never witnessed that end well.
Whether you believe North or Bray or substitute player X here rumors, if their heart is not in it, it doesn't matter how talented they are.

i totally agree with you but about half of those 14 players aren't as good as you think and hyped... guarantee only 6-7 do what is expected....

While I agree with some of this, you should not be foolish either. A weaker schedule does make their path much easier and you must clear the path to get to the prize. Ever heard the saying:

The SEC Eat Their Own.

Difference is Urby only has to play quality opponents about three times a year, he had to double that in the SEC. He has a very good roster but lost to Michigan State and Alabama beat the brakes off of Michigan State. Nick Saban is the reason Urby left Fla not heart problems.JMO

Excellent observation and analysis.

I've not said its not an easier path. I've said that OSU has the talent to survive in the SEC; not dominate. Would they lose a game? Likely. So does Bama, so did UF in their runs, so did LSU in 2007, so did AU in 2013.
