'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Tee said on the radio today that his recruitment is closed. I still wouldn't back off if I'm UT

IF, and I mean if, there is any hint of daylight for UT to flip him, it's not going to come in the next several weeks. Probably would present itself as him showing up for the Florida and/or Alabama game. Until that happens, I'm sure his recruitment really is closed.

It's time for this thread to go away. Higgin$ is gone and he'$ not coming back. Clemson has him now. Get used to the idea.
But.....if there is any hint that he or Amari Rogers still are allowed into our facilities to lift, chummy up, or hang out; then we Tennesseans have it as our tax paying right to raise unshirted hell about these two lugheads being in our house.
Rogers is a butt sore punk,.... soured by the fact that CBJ didn't offer his dad a Co-Head Coachship.
Higgin$ is a very simple young man, a follower who heard the pied notes of Rogers, Johnson, and the bagman.... coo cooka chew.
Somebody delete this thread.

I know where GFW played and went to high school and you are wrong about his not being connected to the team. SMH on the stupidity by some to want to run off guys with legit info. May not see him give any info again.

Have there been many people calling GFW out?? I have noticed a lot of backlash aimed his way. Maybe I just missed it.

Maybe it is fit now but once season plays out a lot can change. I'm expecting a Richmond type recruitment here from our staff. Publicly look like we are done but behind closed doors the heat will be turned up late. Richmond had some similar factors with influences close to him pushing ole miss for their own gains. So they had to play coy like they moved on.

I'll admit though this will be harder because Clemson has his buddies

No one's losing their minds. We were having a discussion on a message board about a local player. And then some slack jawed knuckle dragging loser, meaning you, wondered in here and tried to dictate the discussion. We are just telling you in a round about way to gfy and leave if you don't like what is being discussed. Clear enough?

LOL I don't always agree with you dune but this is one of my favorite posts ever.

I may be mistaken but I thought I read where UT had more less stopped recruiting Richmond. The only reason he ended up at TN was because he(Richmond) called UT a little before NSD and said he had reconsidered.

IMO that's how this one should be played. Stop recruiting him. If he calls, see what he's got to say.

I get the impression that Butch took this fake out personally. I don't think we'll hear much about UT recruiting this kid going forward even if he were to call the coaches up and say he's reconsidering.

Tee might end up being the greatest WR of all time but in the end one player isn't bigger than an entire program. Takes a lot of players to make it all work. Best of luck to him at Clemson.

This recruitment has a suspicious look to it. He named Tennessee his leader on Memorial Day but many analysts seemed not to trust it. It's rumored he gave our staff a verbal commitment during OCD but those same analysts didn't trust that either. Then came the video which was apparently filmed just after OCD. The whole thing is fishy.

It's also unusual to see both Hubbs and Fort be so wrong on the same recruit...like I said - fishy.

Care to explain why he lied to our coaches until the video was released? Almost all of us understand that Tennessee is not the best place for every player we want, and, though it is disappointing, we move on a lot quicker if the player has been straight up with our coaches and does not lie to them.

How do you know what he told the coaches? Have you talked with one of them about it?

I've read every post in this thread since Tee committed. I don't recall any that called out GFW. in fact, I recall quite a few who were curious for his input on what happened. I think the vast majority of the regulars here respect what GFW brings here, and if he chooses not to post here anymore, we've really lost a good one.

If "Tee is a fine young man", then he needs to get his head out of his azz and try to get his college career off to a better start.

He, and perhaps his family if they were involved in this drama, have shown at the least immaturity, and at the worst dishonesty and disrespect to their community.

If he plans on living in Oak Ridge/Knoxville has he thought about the implications of coming home and trying to get a job? Imagine how that interview will go when the boss went to UT and remembers how his recruitment went down.

I have not heard anyone criticize him for his decision to go to Clemson, but many are upset about his disrespect for UT, and that character flaw does not bode well for his future.

Then that potential employer needs to grow the hell up and not let a 17 yr old's college decision, 4-5 years prior, determine his hiring decisions. They may need to get a life if it still haunts them down the road. Once again, what did he do that questions his character? He's not spoken about UT since committing other than to say he's shutting it down and not considering UT. Callahan said afterwards, that down the stretch it was trending towards Clemson and UT's staff was disappointed in not getting him as opposed to shocked. Calling someone your leader and then committing elsewhere 3 weeks later is not what I would consider a character flaw or disrespecting "his community".

Maybe he meant the backlash against the "Turtle"! :)

It sounds like Hubbs was completely out of the loop on what was going on and got everyone's hopes up. Then when he backtracked and tried to protect his credibility it reads like he felt he was lied to. Maybe he was. But Callahan sure didn't seem as shocked and tore up about it like VQ did.

Not a lot if any from posters usually in this forum but a few have. He may be laying low after this due to his position than anything a few posters are saying.

Tee did start attacking UT though after his de-committment from us. He started badmouthing the coaches & school & telling lies/stuff that wasn't true. That just sounds like an immature kid if you ask me. Why did he have to do that? Why did he even keep recruitment to us open if he was treated so bad by our coaching staff? Something is not right with Tee Higgins.

I don't personally know him but the pure way he handled this situation shows something is not right with him. I wish him nothing but the best but if he has problems he needs to get help or maybe it's just an immaturity problem & he needs time to mature & grow up.

If he has taken money from Clemson then he's really screwed up. He won't be playing for Clemson or possibly any other college if the NCAA punishes him bad enough. He might end up being a straight to the pros type situation over this if it's true!

Show us where he badmouthed the staff. So he badmouthed them and then a month ago called us his leader and had Hubbs confused as hell? Makes sense.
