I think Rogers hates his dad for not being around much with new wife and family. Jones made Tee an offer to come to UT that was not enough as some mentioned to get rock star other baby mama to leave LA where Rogers could be with his dad. Mad at dad not being close and Tee lays it on Butch to smooth over. More hate on top of a lifetime of hate from far off dad not heavily involved in his day to day life.

Jarrett Guarantano was one of them in 2016. With the other QB's lined up behind Dobbs, he was going to have to compete hard for playing time and might end up in a situation where he was passed over if UT is able to secure a top QB in the 2018 class.

Some of these kids have their sights only on the NFL. An education is not their priority - thus they want the opportunity to declare after 3 years - which means they need significant playing time by their sophomore year. If you have talent at a position where only 1 can play stacked up - you may not even get an opportunity until your JR or SR year.

Recruits may see that as being recruited over though it is something a coach that wants to win every year must do. Keep in mind that most of these kids are treated a superstars in their home towns - constantly told how great the are. They are the best on their team - they are not used to having to compete for playing time and thus don't expect to in college.

I get what you're saying, but he wasn't recruited over. JG had already committed to us before Johnson committed and decommitted. We didn't recruit over Johnson that I'm aware of. He may have had character issues or something else behind the scenes. But it didn't have to do with JG.

They're not pissed at UT and they don't want to "stick it to UT." They just want to play elsewhere and want other good players from TN to come with them, so many on here feel slighted.

USC's class is trash right now. Why does Clemson have to recruit their own state when they can go out and steal top 100 recruits from neighboring states? The staff has great relationships in GA and FL and now it looks like TN as well.

The 5th best player in South Carolina for the 2017 cycle is a 3 star. The State isn't loaded. South Carolina's glory years happen to coincide with years when SC had more that the usual amount of talent. When will Tennessee make a move on Shi Smith ?

Unless you're in North Carolina,Georgia,Bama,.Texas,Florida or California,you have to recruit out of state to succeed.

Add Lousiana and Ohio to that list. Western PA has talent too. And parts of VA.

Exactly. So I wouldn't say USC is unsuccessful at recruiting their own state. They're choosing to go get better guys than their state is currently producing.

Thanks...I know it was an innocent reference, but really freaking specific! Found out that breast cancer that recurs as metastatic cancer in other parts of the body is practically a death sentence. My sister-in-law just received that same diagnosis. Two sisters same fate.

I was thinking that the cumulative effect of S. Jones, Garantano, and the potential 2018 #1 during a shirt time was more than he wanted to deal with. Pure speculation, and it wasn't an instant change, but the vibe changed as I recall. Just a theory... someone asked why he seemed to have it in for UT and that model fits the data as well as anything.
