'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Been in sales for 25 years, thanks. Carved out a nice little living myself.

The kid just put together a major production with Bleacher Report to announce his commitment. Iirc, he's also an early enrollee.... I personally don't see him reneging/reconsidering, do you? I think they're better off putting their time and resources into other talented WRs who have legitimate interest in Tennessee....clearly, Higgins does not IMO.

You're an old fart... I've been in sales for 18 years myself and I guarantee you that Butch and Co. are not following your advice and giving up on Higgins... That doesn't mean we sign him but it's not over.

...and bleacher report and major production simply don't belong in the same sentence... That was anything but...

Yeah, quit.

Bullspit.

You think he commits to Tennessee for a third time?

Probably should stop recruiting him and focus on other WRs. Now if Tee calls and asks to OV in Dec and Butch can keep him away from every other recruit visiting, go for it. I mean if he's taking an OV, Dabo has likely opened up his spot for the tine being anyway. Reality is I think Tees parents told him to be sure before committing again. I think he's done.

Haha. I'm sure they'll maintain some occasional contact just to see if gets cold feet for Clemson at some point. Butch and company are professionals, certainly wouldn't profess to know better. I'm just saying that from the outside looking in as a fan, it looks like Tee is solid to the Tigers and Butch still has a class to finish putting together. My amateur opinion is that the staff's time and resources would very likely better spent trying to get Holloman and others on the train. Of course, jmho.

This kid is a flake... if Clemson loses to Auburn in week 1 = Game On!

Dude, are you remotely aware of the situation here? Tee has committed to us, then decommited, then partnered with Bleacher Report to put together a very public commitment video to commit to Clemson. He's an early enrollee and Dabo supposedly doesn't allow commits to take other visits. All that adds up to a longshot to say the least IMHO.

I'm sure Butch will occasionally reach out/touch base with Tee in case he has a change of heart. I'm just saying I think it's prudent to put energy and resources into other, talented and uncommitted WR prospects who are showing a legitimate interest in the Vols....it sure looks like Tee no longer is, if he ever was that is.

I'm sorry for calling you an old fart as I am one myself (but was just joking) but with this attitude we would have lost Richmond... I really don't think our staff is going to quit working this as hard as ever. JMO.

He clearly prefers Clemson. Thinking 1 loss all a sudden changes that seems silly to me. Especially to a very decent SEC football team. If he chose UT and we didn't go undefeated would he have walked? LOL

He clearly prefers the flavor of the month... I have no inside info but having been to Clemson, SC - I think that is what this is about... I could be wrong though.

I was upset at first, but he is a kid and made his decision. If he doesn't want to be here, then we don't need him. All we can do is be successful and he will be on the outside looking in. Life goes on. UT football goes on.

Holy Crap! this thread is like a really hot girl broke up with 10,000 people at once. Resentment, denial, revenge plans...it's all here.
Kid doesn't want to play here due to the system we're running, tough break. That's how it goes sometimes.

Horse S***!

Is that the denial or resentment phase? :)

If some of you on here who are dissing this kid would be jumping for joy if he switched to UT on NSD then just hush and let it go.

Let.
It.
Go.

Has GFW posted on the topic since yesterday? If so what did he say? He's probably waiting for us to recover so we can think rationally.

I don't see anyone dissing his ability - he is a future star.

I personally think he is, at least for the moment, the biggest miss we have had in recruiting since Chris Leak in 2003. I also don't think it's over.

Haven't seen anything from him yet. Can't say I blame him... Bunch of irrational idiots up in here, shooting from the hip.

He reported what he heard. Nothing more, nothing less.

It appears many within the program were led astray by the Higgins camp.

Oh I agree. People are dissing his character, not his ability.

This is more about being butt hurt but then if he swung back to ut thes same people would be talking from the other side of their mouth.
