'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

If Clemson has a no visit rule after committing, why would Tee commit today? If UT winning would impact his decision, why not wait? This ship has sailed. I think you're looking for something that isn't there.

I can't believe that you are approaching that Clemson policy as an end all for a kid that has already de-committed once. It's not like we don't discourage our commitments from visiting other schools too.

Kind of torn because I hate to lose Higgins, but love the absence of a certain poster who was constantly comparing him to AJ Green.

Tough for us to discourage it. I mean you can be dropped for anything as a commitment here. Its not at all the same as how Dabo handles it.

It is 7 months to signing day. We can't offer immediately playing time anymore. We will be a run first team under CBJ. Run first and defense wins championships. When we win they will come.

Exactly. It has and will always be about having a dominant defense. Bama wins championships with only one receiving threat, a dominant running game, and a disruptive defense. It's the same formula every year and no one has stopped it. Don't let losing a recruit ruin your day. At this point I would argue our program is at a better stage than Clemson's. This year on the field will prove that. It's easy to have a flash in the pan season in a weak conference.

3 BCS bowl berths in 5 years is flash in the pan success? We haven't done that in 20 years.

That's fine, and I agree. But man, you get upset if anyone says the slightest thing negative about Butch.

Can you really blame me? I mean us fans have already went through the Dooley years which was nothing but negativity. Do we really need to go through this again with Butch this time? I'm just ready to win and support my team win or lose.

We won 9 last year. Best season in a very long time. If they are coming, looks like someone needs to tell them it's time cause the class looks very UKish.

Much truth to this post. However some on here will say oh there is a long way until NSD and everything is fine. Even though its not fine. We will probably sign another "diamond in the rough 3*" to compensate for the loss.

I wonder how long it will take before we hear comments like oh well he wasnt that high on our board. We passed on him awhile ago or my favorite, we are obviously in on much better players.

Hey guys we lost this one.We wanted him and he chose someone else. I will bring up this thread 2 years from now and see how bad it hurts. But when you have went thru what we have the last 10 years it is bound to happen. I for one am proud of what Butch has done for us. We went from Dooley to winning two consecutive new years day bowls in lopsided fashion. Hunter was afraid of JG don't forget that.

Apples and oranges... we only drop fringe 3* projects - not players the caliber of Higgins...and don't kid yourself, Dabo Swinney is not dropping Higgins as a commitment if he does visit Ohio St and Tennessee this fall - which he most likely will. I think you are putting way entirely too much stock in the belief that policy will keep him from other visits. He may very well sign with Clemson but Butch will get him on campus this fall.

Guys maybe he just wanted to go to school out of town and go somewhere that has the most recent success of supplying the NFL with ready set wide outs...

I have to laugh at the melt down and trolling. He decommitted from UT previously for reasons he knows. What did that tell everybody? Nothing or something?

Yeah, it's so worth losing a top ten player in the country!

Hate to lose him. But I know this program is headed in the right direction and I trust that it will continue to get better. I know that's boring, but I'll ride with Butch until he gives me a reason not to.

Losing Higgins is disappointing to say the least. However, the most important positions are QB, OL, and DL. If we can consistently get good play there everything will take care of itself. WR are icing. OL, DL, and QB are the cake.

And we have them. QB is arguably our strongest position. We are stacked OL and DL. Crosby coming in this class and I'm sure Butch will get a couple more big time DT''s like Gaddy and others. Team is loaded at DE and Butch is in on some great ones in this class also

Would be nice for GFW or another insider to make an appearance and tell us what the hell happened. And what Butch is going to do to fix it. If Azzani is that bad of a coach and even recruits don't like him/his techniques get rid of him now. Butch was almost coaching the wide receivers late last season wasn't he?

We'll I for one hope his parents raised him better than that. Letting a kid think he is above the rules because he's a 5* is how things get out of hand. If it's a rule at Clemson and you're not done taking visits, wait. If you're done fine, go ahead and commit. I get it you need to think those visits are possible. I think you're just hoping.

And I think you are applying too much of your own thought process to a kid who has already de-committed once and has been all over the place about his intentions. It wasn't that long ago, he announced Tennessee as his leader (May 31st) and he has also announced intentions to visit Ohio St as recently as a week ago. This has nothing to do with his parents or how he was raised - he just looks a little flaky or maybe like a kid who doesn't know what he wants.
