'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Per Woody
Let me give you guys a little "inside baseball" type info on situations like this. These kids like to have commitment videos, but with so many moving parts they are difficult to produce. So when a production does take place, several alternate endings are filmed. So with Higgins likely down to Tennessee and Clemson, if he did indeed film a video to release on July 4, there are likely two endings that on the shelf and when he gives the official word the proper one will be updated.

I have heard rumors that he's planning on committing July 4, but I don't think anyone knows at this point. I know Tennessee was really confident following the recent trips to campus, but then he popped up at Clemson and has already said he plans to be back there later in July.

I honesty think the best thing for him would be to wait, because it's clear no matter where he commits, there's going to be plenty of recruiting to be done between now and Signing Day.

Who gets him for the bye week? What if UT & Clemson both make their respective title games? What if we face Clemson in the playoff? Enquiring minds want to know.

I think VQ has mentioned an early July commitment is likely.

Turtle is their source. :eek:hmy:

Callahan has said it might happen in July as well but like you said, anyone who thinks it's over would be mistaken. If he commits, that school just becomes the #1 target from other schools when they still are recruiting him. Might be good to be 'last' in this case.

Amari Rodgers is the culprit.

He was one of the biggest recruiters for Clemson that was trying to lure Tee away I will say that. But in the end the relationships he has built here with players and the coaching staff is alot more to overcome than what Clemson has to offer. Plus once again mom loves CBJ and CRG as well so there you go. He cannot turn down the opportunity to play somewhere that his mother can come and watch him at too.

My expectation is that nothing will happen. And all of these uber drivers, turtles, and biggest loser candidates will disappear like a fart in the wind.

He apparently decommitted because he wanted to take visits and make sure. Now word is he may be ready to recommit, but still take visits. Uh, what?

You really don't get it?

If I was a recruit (17 or 18 years old remember that time?) and had the talent to go anywhere I wanted, I'd take every official visit I could and take advantage of a one in a lifetime opportunity to have people falling all over themselves to get me to come to their school. Free trip, free food, etc....

And you still don't get it?

No, I don't get it. If I were unsure, of course I'd weigh my options and take advantage. If I knew where I'm going I wouldn't waste my time seeing places I'm not going to sign. Can't he get quality food closer to home? Could he not have fun with friends? I'd imagine the female situation with Tee isn't an issue closer to home. Why put on a fake front and act like you're interested in this school or that school if you're not? If he indeed has decided on Tennessee, you're right. I don't get it.
