'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Just to add more excitement

"What Clemson could sign at quarterback and receiver in this 2017 recruiting cycle would go unmatched if Dabo Swinney and his staff can finish it off.

They already have the nation’s No. 1 quarterback per the 247Sports Composite in Brownsburg (Ind.) High five-star Hunter Johnson committed.

The Tigers also have exciting playmaker in Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic Top247 recruit Amari Rodgers who would be in the discussion as the nation’s top slot receiver in the fold.

I believe it’s a matter of time, very likely some point in July, when five-star receiver Tee Higgins jumps in the boat. 247Sports ranks the 6-foot-4 ½, 188-pound Higgins as the No. 1 receiver in America."

Doesn't that do the opposite of add excitement?

I'm not sure what influenced Wiltfong's statement. Maybe he is basing his opinion off of older information or truly just his gut feeling? In regards to Clemson, the positives for UT are that 247 and VQ guys are confident UT is in a really good spot, and he is not even visiting one of Clemson's biggest recruiting weekends. Instead, he is going to tOSU with his mother.

For some reason all of the national analysts on 247 are dead set in their belief that Tee is headed to Clemson

Kongbo was a rare exception where a decommit recommits. That is why I think they are not picking VOLS. They do not understand why Tee decommited. I think they get Williams but we will get Tee and keep him unless the season blows up.

No way that Tee ends up anywhere else than Tennesssee.

Likely. He is a great character kid and the appeal of Clemson has faded. Like I have said his visit to Clemson before Orange Carpet was considered a ho hum visit to him and they pressed him very hard for a commitment.

It's good he didn't give it, apparently Dabo will stab you if you commit and then take a visit.

I know from what I've been told is momma wants him close to home and is pretty much in our corner. I don't see any way that Tee is not a Vol. The intrigue of Clemson has faded and I was told he is pretty much a silent commit to Tennessee at this point. He just wants to announce on his own time.

There is going to be a lot if people eating crow on this one from either side of national pundits or VN. At least makes it interesting.

My thoughts? I think Tee is telling everyone what they want to hear. I also think he is throwing people off or is actually split on where he wants to go. I think he is throwing shade, even those close to him to keep people guessing. IF he doesn't pop by mid July, that CU visit looms large, never give CU the last visit.
