'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

After an interesting few days of rumors regarding instate wide receiver Tee Higgins, there's still plenty of unknown when it comes to the extremely talented playmaker.

But, as we've continued to say over the course of the last few weeks, we believe there's some optimism surrounding Tennessee with Higgins after hosting him on Orange Carpet Day and the weekend before that.

It's worth noting his mother was not with him on his visit to Clemson and she, along with several members of the family, made it to Orange Carpet Day.

And don't discount having Maleik Gray in the fold, either. The Midstate athlete has gone to work with the Vols.

Now, on the flip side, some around Clemson believe the Tigers are in a good spot right now. But, we still think Tennessee has done some good work there recently.

An official announcement date is still unclear, but we continue to hear early July as the likely timeframe.

I think part of the reason Higgins is leaning Tennessee now is due to the fact that he can probably play both basketball and football here. Granted he probably won't play both most of his college career, but I think he will initially. He loves basketball and football both though, and I think he ends up playing both his freshman year. He's a 5* football player, and capable of being a 4* McDonald's all American in basketball. That's just how gifted this kid is! He's been at a few rocky top league games recently, and around UT a lot recently too. I think he commits to us for football and basketball in early July.

Well said. We can certainly take all the help we can get when it comes to our basketball team.

Yeah but didn't he call Clemson in a panic a few days back? So if I followed everything correctly, Turtle is only right if Higgins commits via a Bleacher Report video to Clemson while talking to someone wearing purple.

Everything points towards UT and if wasn't for my source I would bet the bank on UT. They act like it's Clemson though.

So I obviously don't know who he is committed to. I should have never made a statement to where he was going.
