" Massive Failure " ? No, I don't think so. I hope he ends up here but, this kid and his family live less than thirty minutes from UT campus. I know when I was his age and looking at where to go, I definitely didn't want to be so close to my family that they could surprise me at my dorm anytime. "Oh, Hi Mom, yes I sleep naked all the time now and no there is no one hiding in my closet, that is just my pet ferret you hear in there. No, that's just koolaide in that cup. Funny smell? Oh, someone ran over a skunk out back yesterday. " Like I said, hope we get him but, don't go all nuts if we don't. There are lots more elite football players out there that live further away.

What a wacky post but I still agree with the guy that brought this up about this being a big failure for Butch & company if we can't land Higgins.

maybe you didn't get it ? What is written inside quotation marks is just a made up example of what might happen when or if a parent were to decide to visit unannounced. My point though, is that most 18 year olds prefer to go away to college not stay home for college .

I said wacky because of some of the things you said. For instance, talking about no one was hiding in his closet. Nothing wrong with the examples it was just wacky to a point. LOL! :)

Well, to be honest, I was pretty wacky when i was an 18 year old college student. Lots of great memories and lots of well, wacky memories.

I actually take the quotes as he knows he's coming to UT and wants to save some things to look forward to. He doesn't need to see it all now because he'll have years for that.

I love how the closer and better a player lives in relation to campus the more people fret over his college decision. If he wants to go to college away from here, more power to him and it is not a failure by our staff. The people that say that are either mamma boys or didn't go to college.

I disagree. It's absolutely unfathomable that a kid might want to use an opportunity for a free college education to get away from home and see a bit of the outside world. Why would anybody want to ever leave the state of Tennessee for anything other than an away game? Going outside of state lines for anything longer than a vacation is terrifying!

You all are ridiculous. He's not blanket stating "Knoxville is boring"

He is saying he doesn't want to visit every other weekend and get bored of the experience. I don't blame him and am glad he is doing it. Will make each visit more meaningful.

Named Alpha Male at Charlotte, The Opening Regional! His high school coach said, "Higgins is the best receiver in the last two classes!" Kid killed it! Punched his ticket for the Finals in July to be held at the Nike World Headquarters in Oregon.
