Kelly Washington couldn't cut like CP. There hasn't been a WR in Orange like him after the catch.
I don't disagree with that, but you said that KW wasn't anywhere close to the athlete CP was, and that is grossly untrue. Cutting isn't the sole measurement of an athlete.
The truth is, and many scouts suggested it too, CP's skills and abilities were probably better suited to play RB than WR.
Ask our good buddy Palmer...Dabo FORBIDS it. If he commits to Clemson he has no choice. (Ran out of blue ink).![]()
Correct. If he was to commit to Clemson, he would not be able to take an OFFICIAL visit to Tenn. Just like the #6 overall player in the nation last year, Shaq Smith, who wanted to take official visits and had to decommit last summer.
Dabo's been very consistent with this policy, and I'm not sure why it's so hard to understand? He doesn't want his commits getting the red carpet treatment from other schools- on their dime- when the are committed.
If they want to do that, great, but they can't lock down an increasingly coveted spot on Clemson's commit board if they're having 2nd thoughts or are looking around. Dabo has to protect Clemson and can't risk having someone back out at the last second and screwing our numbers.
BTW, Dabo also doesn't do any of that BS that is so prevalent in the SEC. If you commit and we accept, you have a spot regardless of what happens or who else comes on our board. No grey shirts, no pulled offers, etc. A commitment is a commitment and it has to work both ways.
It tough to argue with his policy when he just brought in back to back top 5 classes and hasn't had anyone decommit within weeks- if not months- of signing day.
Michigan has insinuated that Clemson offer Gary "incentives".

Dabo will change his habits once he takes the Alabama job
People undermining this decommitment are fooling themselves. Is Tee likely to be a Vol on NSD? Yes. But that doesn't change the fact that we now have 0 commitments for the class, in particular, a big instate name. Every class needs an ambassador or two like Quarantano or Hurd to get the ball rolling early. Elite players want to play with other elite players. Just like a football game, recruiting is about momentum and the '17 class has none at the moment.

2 ACC Champs and a playoff semifinal. Has Butch beat a ranked team yet? You sure you want to go down this road?
I know that's a dig at me/Clemson, but you obviously don't know Dabo very well. He ain't changing sh1t no matter where he goes. It's the way he is, and it allows him to build and SELL a culture that is simply unmatched. Everyone can talk the game, but not everyone can walk it when the pressure's on.
Just stop. Bring the info you normally do, but don't get drawn into a pissing match on a Tennessee board. It won't end well for you, and you'll just end up looking like a jilted rival fan like so many before you who came with good intentions, and became vilified because they couldn't avoid being baited into arguments.
You're very right, I do well about 80% of the time, it's but impossible to not respond to everything 100% of the time. And that's on me, I understand that.
Anyways, I do love this forum and really wish Clemson had something like it. Very good site that I'll continue to monitor but not post on in the future. Best of luck to your 2017 class. We'll be crossing paths quite frequently from the early returns. :hi:
