'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Damn all this Oak Ridge talk has got the feels train a-chooing

Oak Ridge is the reason I became a UT fan. Used to spend summers there as a kid. Begged my parents to let me fly solo to go see the Vols (this wasn't really a big deal back then). Even offered to sacrifice my birthday present for a ticket to go see a game. Long story short, I convinced my granny, my granny convinced my mom, my mom convinced my dad and my dad smoothed it over with the brother and sister. This was an excruciatingly slow process for an 8 year old. Anyways, I still remember that mischievous feeling I had because I skipped school to fly to a football game while all my friends back home. I also remember UT fans on the plane, which was really cool because they were flying from Dallas but were decked out in Tennessee gear.

It was my first and only game at Neyland and it still dumbfounds me today. Now when I think of Neyland I think of 98 and that feeling of my lower jaw shaking from the reverberations of 100,000 people screaming. It's impossible to forget.

/feels yall....feels

You flew from Dallas to Knoxville by yourself as an 8-year old?

What hurts Tee a lot is he doesn't have a very good QB to throw the ball to him. The QB at Oak Ridge is a good runner not quite the passer though and that henders Tee a lot. Clinton who they played tonight if you put Clintons QB on Oak Ridge throwing to Tee. Tee would have a crazy season.

What also sucks is that they now run a triple option identical to georgia tech's so he will almost never get the ball

Posts like this help me realize how d@mn lucky I am to have been going to games every year since I was around 4 years old. And I respect the hell out of anyone who hasn't had that opportunity who still bleeds orange and who has fought and clawed to get to a game or two. Everyone has their own story, and they're all equally awesome. We are one big (Orange), disfunctional, borderline psychotic, loyal family. GBMFO.

Im not sure that will hurt him so much. I know they tried multiple ways to get the ball in his hands tonight with reverses and such. Georgia Tech usually has one good receiver down there every year even running that offense for example Demaryius Thomas and Stephen Hill but Georgia Tech has a QB to get the ball to there receivers down field.

They have stewardesses or attendants for kids over a certain age. Basically they babysit you in the airport until you get on your flight. I did it from Arizona that same summer. As far as I know it was pretty common back then, at least it seemed pretty casual. Now, probably not so much.

Still happens quite a bit. It's called "unaccompanied minor." I represent a recently-retired NFL player and he and his ex exchange their 7-year old children this way regularly.

Wish I could have went to the oak ridge game tonight but unfortunately they were honoring a lot of my friends tonight at our high school game. To be honest they didn't want to be there either the wives/ girlfriends made them go lol, and was going to go watch Oak Ridge next week but found out last night that they are honoring my dad next week, he is trying to talk them out of it lol.
