'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

I think he shouldve lost his job last year. This plus another bad season as WRs coach and I think you see us go after a new WR and QB coach. The lack of production isn't all Azzani's fault. Dobbs has progressed as a passer but not enough to garner any praises from me.

Its put up or shut up time and it all goes back to the main man, Butch. Win some games and no one will care about this but lose and you have hell to pay.

Winning games and having a competent quarterbacks are not the same. We can go undefeated this year and win the NC, but our passing game has been underwhelming.

If the man cant win double digit and or make it to ATL with this roster....he cant cut it. If u love mediocricy.....keep him around and enjoy the citrus and music city bowls

You sound so happy about that. He made the roster. He gets credit for that.

So because we will have a run-oriented offense in 2016, we don't need a 5* WR who lives 30 minutes from campus?

When JG is slinging it around all over the place in 2017, we're going to wish we had a stud like Tee to pair up with him for the next 3 years.

We are fine. The system isn't going to change. We are who we are.

...no, you said I love, ahem *mediocrity, if he doesnt make it to Atlanta and I still support him, which is something I never said

plus you already said that he shouldve made it to ATL last season, implying that what hes done already isnt good enough, dont change your words around to try to win the argument, this is the internet, got it all on file

hell, this whole thing started because you doubted Butch's ability

im anticipating greatness and youre anticipating failure

Ok

We have seen the scheme put up Big numbers at Cinci with Marty Gilyard and Armond Binns (without Azzanni)

You are correct..but CBJ has not shown any commitment to the passing game while at UT. Maybe it is personnel related but if that doesn't change this year, I think we're unlikely to meet expectations.

Yep. Thing is, if he wins 10 but doesn't win the East, he will get 2-3 more seasons almost by default. Because he probably will win 9-10 in 2017 as well. But the roster will be on a slow decline without either bringing home some hardware or winning the division.

Totally agree. It would be very sad to see all this talent graduate and leave without a championship of some sort. Like you said, we will not get to the talent level that this year's roster has again if we don't show big results. That simply can not happen, or we will again be behind UGA and FL.

2016 will be THE turning point in Tennessee football, for better or worse. Jmo

The system can change though. Adapt the system. Bama isvrun heavy but gets 5 star WR's yearly.

When did you become the head coach at Tennessee? Butch is not going to change his system nor does he care about your opinion or the rest of the board's opinion about his offense. He's getting paid millions to do his job and he's doing the best with what he's got.

Pass game would improve by just throwing a pass over the middle. What's the point of a spread offense that doesn't use the entire field. The random times we did it was a big play

Let's see what he does with this monster roster. He does deserve credit for the ballers we have. Now take the next step and coach these men to ATL.

Now that he has your permission. :gone:

I love our fans. We're the greatest!

When we're not being the Legions of the Miserable we're pretty good. :)

Honestly, I'm just glad this is over with and we can focus our efforts on someone else. Of course, we'll still recruit Higgins but now we can focus more attention on other targets.

Azzani may not be the best WR coach, but I can assure you the lack of production is directly correlated to Butch's offensive scheme...has very little to do with talent on field or positional coaching. Not sure how so many ppl don't get that after 3 years now lol.

Where did you see that I mentioned that Azzani was in charge of calling the offensive plays?? I will have to go back and look at my post. HMMM..

Futhermore, I do not see this as a "LOL" moment.

The misuse of Marqueze North was ridiculous. Early in the year we were feeding Jennings but not throwing to North. He was healthy so there shouldn't have been any excuses. How did he not have one catch week 1? Not even a screen or simple 5 yard route. A WR of that caliber should get the ball as much as Ridley at Alabama. But we throw to Johnathan Johnson over him.

Nothing against Marqueze - and I hope he has great success - but what i saw was a big body with good hands, not particularly fast, not particularly shifty, not able to get separation. If he and Johnson are in there and Johnson has a couple yards of separation and North is draped - I might choose Johnson as well. I don't think Hobbs didn't like North - he simply often chose other targets.
