Not sure about that. I haven't kept up with Gray on the field, but I know that JRM was a tackling machine before he stepped on campus. The kid always had a nose for the ball, he was groomed for the position.

I never considered JRM at DB saw Tennessee LB on his first scouting report. Was wrong about Cortez McDowell tho.

Athletically, would be better than JRM, in my opinion. Where JRM made huge strides in his development, was in the film room. If Gray commits to that area of his game as much as JRM did, then he will be outstanding.
