'17 TN ATH Maleik Gray (UT signee)

I think the problem with Gray is UT hasn't been that relevant "it" team since he's been alive. FSU and USC have that appeal of being far off and flashy. If UT wins this year on the field like they should and continues to win on the recruiting front they have a good shot of changing his mind IMO. Getting him and his family on campus to show what we have to offer will likely open his eyes a lot but we have some serious work to do here.

Also on the 2017 front, look for several instate 2017 prospects on campus this weekend to check out Tennessee's practice.

Maleik Gray, Gentry Bonds, Princeton Fant and Jacob Phillips are all scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend.

Anybody know anything about this RB for Smyrna- Casey Perkins? He's looking pretty good out here. Pretty big kid too.

I think this is the in-state kid in the 2017 class whose recruitment will be most affected by our results on the field this upcoming season. I think if we can go 10-2, win the SEC East, and show promise as a national title contender in 2016 and 2017, I think we can get him. If we have a mediocre 7-5 season, then I could see us losing him to FSU or USC.

I don't think it matters what we do....

Unfortunately

we don't have to get this kid. He has a lot of upside but a lot of question marks too. Talked to some coaches today from 2 different schools and they questioned his physicality when not playing up in the box. Also as highspeed said we have nice young talent at LB so he is not a real need anyway

He may not be a "need" from a depth chart standpoint, but he is a need when it comes to returning us to a contender in the SEC east every year and locking up the best in state talent.

LB is a position where we need as many bodies as possible given the physicality of the league we play in.

What exactly do you mean by his physicality when not playing in the box? If your physical inside the box with the big dawgs why sould your physicality outside the box be questioned?

And since when does young "talent" mean you don't need a top 50 player in the nation thats also and in-state kid?

When he doesn't fit what the coaches want.

^ The font looks great. Also love how consistent they've been with the orange. Adidas was awful in that regard.
