'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

You have to look at coaching too. Heard a good comparison yesterday on espn that Georgia and Ohio state had the most espn300 recruits over so many years (can't remember the number) and look where that has gotten Georgia

I absolutely agree Richt should have done more with what he had. That's the reason he was fired.

A few others I found for some perspective.

Texas 123, Baylor 110, Oklahoma 200, Oregon 138, Washington 129, Florida 229, Cincy 340, USCe 234, Ohio St 184, Arkansas 171, Auburn 202, Michigan 231, FSU 175.

IMO the best staff in America who is considered great at evaluations should not need to offer 350+ kids to secure their class of 25.

Lots and lots of numbers in the recruiting game. I try to embrace it.

He would be more of a push as I think he and Lewis are similar talent wise. Of course I'd take the TN kid. The others I listed would be upgrades over our current commits.

No, the QB from Bradley is not as good as you say. I saw him play against Riverdale. 3 INTS and some poorly thrown balls. Offense was crazy. 5 wide the entire game.

Eh, had a bad game with the picks. He threw for 331 yards that game and rushed for 65.

I believe he tossed 6INTs total on the year. Around a 65% passer. Threw for around 2500 yards and 25TDs. Ran for almost another 1000 yards. IMO, he would have been very capable depth, which is what CJ will be.

His dad says the top two are now LSU and Bama; and with all the family he has in LA. LSU is now in the lead...which is where he originally committed. Sounds like UGA is out of it.

LSU = Land of Weeds

I vote for that one. We owe them one for Janzen Jackson.

Because their top two running backs were hurt and had to go five wide. Kid had a visit to Bama coming up that he canceled when he committed to UTC. Has not went to camps and has D1 scholly offers for basketball and is a great athlete. Played super 32 competition and at end of year all they had was him.

Hard when good teams know you are either passing it or only one in backfield. Both running backs with young depth added are back and he won't carry the entire load. He wants to be close to family and wants to play football. Wait till this year plays out and then we will see. Not saying he is better than Lewis but he is good enough to play on a power 5 if he wanted too and had more exposure.

And if we offer fewer players, they would have chosen us. I get it now.

No. But if you lock down the instate guys, you will not need to flood the world with offers.

Example: You plan to take 2-3 RBs. No need to offer 31 RBs, when you can fill those needs instate.

I have no doubt a lot of schools now point to the number of offers out there to a given position as a negative recruiting tool.
"They say you're the guy huh"? "I wonder why they have offered 30 others"? Obviously a school who has offered 3-4 others could use that.

LOL

While it might look great on NSD, I would like to see the staff can make a few evaluations and find a hidden gem now and then.

Now in reality I definitely don't recommend it for our current situation. I mean we would have like 1 commitment.

I think Butch is counting on 7 or 8 hidden gems this recruiting cycle
