Just passing along what he said. He’s a big LSU fan. Was an athlete at LSU. And he’s on their boards quite a bit. Apparently a playing time issue along w the hiring of the GM.

He did not say it was for sure, but said there are rumors floating around LSU about it.

Yeah not calling you out or anything, I just had a feeling that a rumor surrounding Stevens or Phillips would start when Thomas came. I hope the rumor has some legs but I’ll won’t get my hopes up.

Depends on where LSU releases him to. As in where he can't go. Sometimes there are no restrictions on a transfer.

Pretty sure that's not correct. He could transfer here immediately. Just can't go on scholarship for a year (this is where the restriction part comes in) and can't play for a year.

So he would just have to pay in state tuition which would be easy to figure out a way to manage.

The releasing school can just dictate whether he can go on scholarship or not. The NCAA determines when he can play which is one calendar year unless he is granted a waiver which is unlikely.

Did anybody ever confirm that mid year enrollees can still be back counted? I know you could in 2016, but was not sure if it changed. If still allowed it would be a good way to upgrade the roster.
