What recruits UF gets or doesn't get may depend on how big a deal the media makes of the Callaway story. If I was a parent who was ever hesitant about letting my child go to UT, I damn sure wouldn't let him go to Florida now.

Yeah, kinda felt this one slipping away. Fact is Crosby, Bennett, Gaddy, and LiL Gaddy(possibly) is a full DT class. While we don't know if Butch keeps them all, no doubt other coaches are pointing out we have 3-4 in the fold currently.

Pfftt. We all know the real reason. His offer wasnt commitable. I mean why commit to a school if you might lose your spot right? Also, even if he does commit to UF, Butch should always follow your advice and just stop recruiting a guy. Just like he did with Drew Richmond.

The offer may have been committable. Probably depends if the staff liked him better than the 3-4 they took commitments from. I'm not sure. Yes, committing to UT does not mean your spot is in any way secure. As for Richmond I believe I read the staff did stop recruiting him. He called the staff around NSD to see if they would still take him. As we saw, they did.

LOL. You are as about convoluted as a person could be. I mean if you actually believe that Butch stopped recruiting a guy like DR. Unless Butch called you and told you that, then believing any kind of insider or quotes by media personalities is just complete nonsense.

I think there are absolutely situations in recruiting when you move on from a certain target no matter his ranking. Like with the 2018 QB situation. IMO the only way Butch secures an above average QB going forward in that class is to move on from Jones and Lawrence. At times continuing to push for unlikely options can prevent you from getting a quality target. As for Hansard, maybe he was a take right now for us. IMO Bennett was the only one I'd even consider a swap for and I'm on the fence there. Hansard would be ready to play sooner, but Bennett with 30-35lbs may be a star.
