'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Having followed this, I think the one text in three weeks is accurate. I would not handle it this way personally. I would call and let them know instead. However, part of it may be that UT was keeping it till they knew it was time to go and held onto him just in case for as long as they could.

I don't begin to understand recruiting and how the inside of communication is handled by most schools. We seem more personally invested because his dad posted on here and is by all we can tell a real stand up guy. Hope the kid does well regardless of where he goes but not when playing Tennessee. Good luck Mr. Rogers and Chase in your future with football and life.

Are we even in a position to drop lower recruits and upgrade? If we end up losing another game and a few 4 stars decommit, it may get ugly

You act like you are not buying into the process. Your resiliency is lacking. Paying attention to fundamentals along with assignment execution is in play here. To play complimentary football you need to have give and take in recruiting because when game day is here, we will be fighting for blades of grass. It is a blades of grass game. We need Tennessee football players doing that to make all of us proud as Vol nation.

Next question. Yes, Brent?

Never enters their minds, Cat. Never makes it into the analytics. With coaching staff changes coming to boot. Which quality assistant coaches will be buying Butch Jones and coming to UT along with their pet recruits this off season - which affects the final signings on NSD? It's going to be interesting how it all shakes out.

I understand how recruiting works and I don't fault Butch and company for feeling the need to part ways. I don't care for the process but it is what it is. What I don't like is our coaches lack of tact and not having the gonads to contact them and be straight with the kid. Crappy way of handling it IMO.

Good luck to you and Chase Mr. Rogers. Don't be a stranger. Stop in and say hi from time to time. I'm confident that Chase will ball out wherever he lands.

Appreciate the class you've shown here. :hi:

From SEC Country:

"Even when Rogers committed to UT back in March he remained firm in visiting other schools and keeping his options open."

His recruitment was always fluid.

There's always two sides to every story. If you truly want to commit, just shut it down and be happy.

This literally happens multiple times every recruiting class. Man up sissies. Nobody would care if his dad didn't post on here.

We have our TE commit this class. We made our choice, why don't we support him huh?

It is wrong for them to do that no matter if it is one recruit or several every year. Just be straight with them. Maybe they feel recruits are not straight with them, so maybe that is why they do it idk, but I do not see how the opinion I stated was being "sissies".

Kind of smacks your theory the coaches always communicate with the kids where they stand doesn't it?

You have fought that fight for so long. Surely to goodness this thread tells you that was a fantasy land.

Who? And don't tell me it's Ethan Wolf. Too inconsistent with catching the ball. We need TEs in the worst way.

You're saying that Ethan Wolf isn't an SEC caliber TE? C'mone man. He's had a problem a bit of catching the ball here in his sophomore season.

He played really well last season & caught everything thrown his way. He's also a pretty good blocker as well. I don't get why you're saying this because he is most definitely an SEC caliber TE.

Why don't you on back and read the thread from the beginning? Mr Rogers said from the beginning that it was a "contingency offer". Exactly as I said they did. I will not deny that I'm disappointed that the way they part with these kids is simply cut off communication. That's a crap move IMO.

Wolf is a junior.

15 receptions for 180 yards and 2 TDs in 10 games this year as a starter is not SEC level. He's playing because we don't have any other options at TE.

Caught everything thrown his way last season? Umm better stop watching recruit HS film and watch the game tape.

He gets pushed back frequently off the LOS and is a below average blocker IMO.

I expect more from our starting Junior TE who's been starting since he was a true freshman.

We did not visit another school since we committed to Tenn. We have always been firm. This is a nasty business but we are lucky to still have time for other options. Thanks for all the support and we will always have tenn on our minds.

Best of luck to you and Chase. You are class people and things usually work out for the best even when it is not clear at first.

Best of luck to Chase and the family. Things will work out exactly the way they need to. God makes no mistakes. Please do keep us posted on his visits and experiences up until NSD.

How much of Wolfs lack of production this year is because of having to help block because the OL has struggled.

I hate to lose Chase. He is the second best player in East Tennessee.

But seriously Rockachaw. Good luck to you and Chase wherever he ends up. It's been a pleasure.

Strange year for recruiting. Sounds like Chase has other schools in mind. Best of luck!
