Unless one or two of our young safeties progress quickly, JJ should be at safety. We lost our last two SEC games because of lack of defense, not offense. Defense still wins games and championships as demonstrated by our lack of defense in the last 4-5 games this year. Two of our WRs should have been Das this year. We probably would have lost only one game if they were on defense. That is unless we would have been beaten by Bama in the SECCG.

Agree that if our secondary continues to be a liability, then they should at least get a look. Hopefully a new position coach will develop the talent we have.

Well sure it would be better – for the school. It’s always a plus when a guy commits early and is an unofficial recruiter. But not all recruits are outspoken and try to get other players to commit to a school. Some are just about their business.. Cam seems lowkey like that.

I’m not saying I think he is a silent to Ole Miss or anything.. I just think they have an advantage being the home state school. Most people are eliminating them based on how they think Cam should feel about the ominous cloud of NCAA sanctions.. but nobody actually knows how that is effecting his decision.

Obviously he is taking his time and seriously considering all of his options, but ultimately I still think he stays home. JMO

Jennings won't be changing positions now. He is growing into a number 1 WR that needs more balls.

I agree with what Kippy Brown said though before that you need to build around defense and your best players being on defense. He could coach a bunch of no name WRs into winners but you needed dominant defense. We keep moving or best players to offense. A defense wth Jennings and Byrd last year in secondary probably would have been outstanding and then Preston ends up starting and fine with his playing time

He has been our best receiver. And he could be our best safety. I want our defense and success rate to improve. The best guys should see the field. If the guys we have in the secondary can't get it done, then options should be explored. Have him play both. He's only getting a handful of offensive targets anyways.

Like I said though, ideally a new position coach can develop the talent we have, because it's there.

I would be happy with getting either Etienne or Felix myself if Akers is out of the question in which I do think we pretty much are. If not those two & we want 1 more RB I vote for getting Damon Williams.

Or a good offense & very very below average defense. I'd be ecstatic about an average defense right now. At least one of Byrd & Jennings should be on D. Both great athletes with some dog in them.
