Mel Kiper has Kamara as late 4th or 5th round
Not sure where you are hearing 2nd or 1st round that is not realistic with such a deep rb class this year
If you got to choose...would you rather AK return next year or get Akers?
As for Akers, we do believe Tennessee is a legit factor at this point. Ohio State and LSU are two schools we continued to hear connected with Akers. Ole Miss and Florida State feel like they are in it, too.
It's extremely hard to get a feel for Akers as he's essentially shut things down form a media perspective and his family has made it known they aren't talking either. So, while there's a lot of speculation on what he's going to do, we're not sure who has a great feel for him.
What happens next no one is quite sure. Will he decide during the dead period? Will he wait to take more official visits? We're just not sure at this point and we're not sure he is either.
We do know that Trey Smith and Cam Akers are good friends and have continued to talk throughout the process and have even talked about playing together.
That's tough I'd love to build for the future, but getting to see one of my all time favorite UT players get to play for one more year would be sweet. Not only is AK super talented, I love his attitude. He's a great person and deserves a lot of success.
He gone though. So lets hope Akers signs.

What upsets me most about Butch is that we didn't get to fully enjoy Kamara. We should have told Jalen to kick rocks after last season and let Kamara be the feature back this year. I'll never understand why we bent over backwards to try and get Jalen to stay when we had two other NFL backs on the roster. Especially when Jalen was such a problem in the locker room.
Yeah I agree. Jalen was a terrible fit for our offense. AK would have been All SEC if he would have had Hurd's touches. Hurd was about a decade or two, too late in football. Football would have been better suited for him in the 90's.
AK reminds me of Le'veon Bell with his catching ability. He doesn't quite have Bell's speed or size but his game somewhat reminds me of his game.
Hurd's game reminds me of Steven Jackson a little.
- He's not taking any more officials, he's been to FSU, Mich, and tOSU for officials this year.
- On Sunday, Akers expects to receive an in-home visit from FSU coach Jimbo Fisher along with other schools such as Tennessee, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss.
- Freeze has told him they want to use him along side Patterson at QB also. Kind of like he played this season. With the Run/Throw option.
- Sanctions have been addressed concerning Ole Miss, and if it wasn't possibly looming, it would have helped them out more.
- The situation at FSU is interesting to him since Cook will be gone. That's their "In" with him.
- I just feel the relationship he has with CRG will be too much for other schools to overcome. CRG being from Hattiesburg, being a Dandy Dozen like CRG was back in his HS days. He's stayed on Akers and worked his family well.
- He's been to campus 4-5 times over the last two years. He's been there twice this year March and June, and also went to UGa to see us play there too. That's why I feel he doesn't need to OV here.
- I see it as a UT/FSU battle, with UT getting the prize.
- He's also friends with Big Trey and I know Ignont is working on him at the All Star game this week.
- Could the Ignont tweet be a future commitment from Akers???epper: :crossfingers:

That's what I keep wondering. I saw someone post that on here then saw it on that Ole Miss writer screen shot. That's why I said they must read Volnation. They may talk because they're in the same recruiting class, but I don't see how they're best friends.
