'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Where did he say that?

He didn't.
He said that he is a LSU fan and always will be.
He also said that everyone asked why he didn't commit to them? and he said they didn't come calling yet.

That COULD mean he would go for them, it could also mean 'they should've noticed me when they had the chance'.

In the same article he talked about how much he loves UT, and loves even more each time he visits.

Sorry to jump in but I noticed who you asked. Knew there was zero chance of getting an honest response. He had already changed what the kid said.

I'm sure they're going to show up. I don't know when but I'm sure it's coming & when they do he's gone as fast as lightning to Baton Rouge.

I'm not convinced they do. I believe they offered like 14 backs and have got one so far. 5 they offered are still uncommitted. I do think IF they come calling, he's out.

It does make you wonder why LSU hasn't offered this kid yet though. They already know how he feels about them. Maybe they don't feel the same or know something we don't about him that's keeping them away. I mean not many SEC or major college schools are going to avoid offering a kid like this a scholarship.

It's simple IMO. LSU knows if they offer he will jump at it. They will let the other 5 play out then offer Coleman if needed. Maybe at some point he says it's too late. From what I've read, he likely flips today or in January given the chance.

Just pick instate guys and forget about other talented guys. Got it. I forgot that Tennessee is stocked full of talent like Florida and Georgia.

I like it that he keeps saying "I could've". Ultimate armchair. Above the petty and trivial and proud purveyor of "JMO" wanted to be a HC but ultimately wasn't any better than the others on this board. Remember Leb? If he had his way, we wouldn't have had Dobbs, because it was a "shady move" recruiting any other QB than Riley Ferguson. Also would have stopped recruiting Richmond and Kyle Phillips because Dylan Jackson could play either position. He had a lot more pizzaz than this new guy...too bad he wasted it on human trafficking and math distribution before they found the bodies under the flipped hotels.

This logic is only understood by a select few, including our staff who have serious inroads in other states.

Your 1st paragraph doesn't read "LSU offer and I'm gone" to you? Seems pretty obvious to me

It's kind of like the Gibbs article a while back. To see it you need to be able to take the Orange shades off for a moment. A lot of folks struggle with that. It's something I'm able to do. Yes, I put them back on quickly, but it helps me be able to see things more clearly rather than everything tinted one color.

Richardson probably won't quailfy. Hayden wasn't a huge loss. Chandler is the only one we HAD to get in state, and we got him.

And no, you couldn't have made it work.

Everyone can see the kid is an LSU fan and of course if he gets that offer we would have reason to worry. But you stated that he publicly said if he gets the offer, he's gone, and that is patently false.

Orange colored glasses has nothing to do with it. You attempting to bend facts to fit your narrative is what this is all about.

Is that why the staff and Butch make it such a big deal to keep elite talent in state? He gives speeches about it, talks about it at practice, puts up billboards, and tweets group pics of all the instate guys that are making a difference. It's a huge advantage to have more instate talent and we need to lock it up so that we CAN focus more on those out of state guys, because it's usually harder. You admitted that's true so I don't see the problem. I'm sure the staff is just as disappointed as we are about not doing as well instate as we would like to this year. Imagine if there was no Smith(?), Gray, Fant, Chandler etc., saying that playing instate made a difference, and we didn't have them committed. Look at our class then. We need to lock up elite instate talent AND get the best out of state that we can, that's all there is too it. Having consistent instate talent is a huge advantage overall in recruiting. You admitted that's true as well, so yes it is a HUGE deal to lose the elite instate guys.

You also said you wouldn't "Bruin" this, but I see it in every thread.
